The whole point of the Tales of Uncle Remus/Song of the South is to pursue happiness, peace, joy, and looking for good in the world even during the most challenging times. Like in this case, the story of Uncle Remus. Living through the Jim Crow or slavery times. That's what the Left doesn't get because all they want to do is collect injustices and they choose to be angry. I can just see how this is Uncle Remus's happy place with creatures and trusted friends🙂

Not you gaslighting an entire political movement so you can maintain your comfort with a movie about slavery. If you have to reframe the entire Jim Crow era as "challenging times" then you have some soul searching to do. You can like the songs while also calling out Disney for its racism.

@@PokemonUniverseFreakYou accuse people of gaslighting while declaring the movie is about slavery. It has nothing to do with slavery. It is about young kids dealing with their parents potentially divorcing and getting advice from a former slave. If the movie promoted racism, wouldn’t the kids dismiss the tales of Uncle Remus? It is a movie about healing and finding humanity. If I was making a racist movie promoting slavery, I certainly wouldn’t make the black man the hero of the movie. If anything the movie shames racism and slavery because the thought of Uncle Remus in chains should anger anyone.
@PokemonUniverseFreak

@@Behinddarkness86 the “kids” literally did dismiss the tales of Uncle Remus because of its racist undertones. The entire film was a PR disaster, which is part of the reason Disney doesn’t talk about this film publicly anymore. I’m not discrediting the contexts of finding humanity and the kids dealing with divorce. That’s a much needed message. But to just discredit the racist undertones of the film is actually wild. If it helps you process the film better, then all the power to you. It’s interesting how people can really be loyal to a film with a talking rabbit and a stereotypical black man. Love the song though 👌🏾

Erasing incredible Black actor James Baskett and his masterful final performance in this movie (just prior to his death) is about as actual offensive and racist as you can get - all in the name of virtue signaling. Quite ironic that the body of folks calling “racism” actually are the ones erasing him. Wonder what Mr. Baskett would say about it. We should probably tear down the colosseum and Pyramids too.

I'm not sure if I agree that the movie is questionable like there's no question about it this movie is not ok. Literally slave characters happy in servitude to show that slavery was actually great you know we got characters that make fun of caricature black predominant speech back in the day making them seem illiterate. But you're right the music is amazing I won't say the characters are because the characters are literally based as slave characters who are just happy to be in servitude I mean the whole point of this story is to be happy with your place in life that you are given not to seek out higher things because if you do you'll be punished bad things will happen. It's literally a call to back in the day when this was written to keep slaves at home Freedom was not all it was cracked up to be because when you have freedom you have trouble that was the moral of the story and it was literally directed at a populist that at the time was earning its freedom and being told servitude was better I think we should acknowledge this in the same way we acknowledge slavery or any other black face menstrual show. It's part of History it's not a good part of History we might like the songs we might like the characters that does not mean that the characters themselves and the story were good morally in any way I fucking love this song but even in its lyrics do you hear how characterized and minstrel they literally make the lyrics? Purposefully using phrases and words that shouldn't be there that were common of caricature black face back in the day Fun fact these lyrics were actually changed for the Disney ride the inconsistencies between them are gone " that's what I knows " for example was changed to "that's what I know " "i zig i zags" to "i zig i zag" even modern Disney took out the offensive parts of the lyrics that were common for blackface caricature in the day this type of language was literally pushed in public media and everything to show that people of black descent were not as smart that they couldn't even speak proper English that was the point of that So it should be acknowledged with the rest of that type of History because that's where it belongs not as anything good I had to edit just to add just so we're all clear even the Disney production studio was racist as hell when this movie came out we know this they made no stipulations or anything for the man who played Uncle Remus to actually receive his award he was not allowed in the theater in Georgia to receive this award because it was whites only He got basically a mock award down in the basement with the maids line Cooks and waste removal people who all also happen to be black it was the only place people of color were allowed in that venue So keep in mind this was written to be racist it was physically implemented to be racist and even after it's implementation it was racist to its actors of color who rightfully won awards for their involvement.

This is a one of a kind triumph: fantastic animation and very good acting by James Basket. Many of the people who protest this film also protest the "Tales of Uncle Remus" by Joel Chandler Harris because he wrote the dialogue according to how African Americans spoke at that time. It's historically accurate, but they protestors claim it's "demeaning" to Blacks.
@TheCRUDPUPPY
@TheCRUDPUPPY 2 жыл бұрын
Actually he wrote it as what black face was at the time. You are carrying on the ideal that the entire black populace has never up to then spoken proper English because they were uneducated and that's exactly what a white man who thought slavery was a great idea and wrote characters who denied freedom and stayed home specifically to push that ideal wanted . Literally it's a story about how you should stay home because with freedom comes trouble. Have you ever read anything else that guy wrote maybe his personal notes logs have you seen what he thought of black people or slavery? Cuz maybe you should research that before you write a comment this dumb supporting literal black face menstrual ideals. majority of the black populace at that time was earning their freedom and many of them did not speak this way in fact the majority of them were becoming very educated at that time. Characters were written like this in publications and shows everywhere to literally keep the black populace down and make them seem uneducated because if they did not speak as good as white people then they don't belong in the same places they don't belong in the same bracket of social standing that was the point of writing black characters like this. I think you missed the point in history where that's literally why black face shows and this kind of literature exists 100% like this is historically known fact There were many black people that did not speak like this and I think you forget that at that time we had black writers poets songwriters teachers. To write in a black populace as happy to be in servitude and dumb down not even able to speak proper English as your white characters even though they're from the same exact place and you think that's okay that's like blatant racism And I had to edit just because if you're honestly endorsing that and backing this guy up after reading his personal writings then you're simply a racist who's trying to back his ideals and frankly much like him your thoughts ideals all of that should die in the past No the majority of the black populist wasn't so stupid that they couldn't speak proper English no the majority of the populace was not happy to be in servitude like many of his writings portray. Know the majority of the black populace wanted their freedom and so many to the point that stories and songs were written about how bad Freedom was and how happy you should be in your place in life. Literally textbook fucking racism

And just so we're all clear when this movie came out black people definitely weren't talking like that the man who played Uncle Remus was so caricaturized and he still wasn't even able to accept his award because it was whites only So even Disney knew what they were doing pushing these ideals and lyrics at that time. It was so problematic and racist and they realized that that the lyrics were actually changed for the ride and the soundtrack Also I can tell you're not black or have any sort of actual connection to anyone black afro latina or anything like that because of the way you say house it's demeaning to black people and shouldn't be like yes over a hundred years of people saying that others are too dumb to be in the same social standing language being one of those reasons you know that should not be demeaning at all the fact that it still carried on today by white people as a great thing in such a lovely story that's not demeaning at all right? Maybe white people are just too stupid to understand what racism actually is? Because I can tell you having afro-latina in my family yeah that's the meaning as fuck for hundreds of years to be told that depending on your skin tone you may or may not be good enough and you should be speaking or not speaking a certain way. Pushing these ideals that that's all black people were was caricatures really? Still pushing that as just a sign of the times? okay

The illiterate and ill-spoken caricature of a black person exists simply because black people acting smart literally meant they were the first to be sold. So the portrayal of black people as dumb in itself has its roots in racism and basically genocide of a people. You had to act dumb to survive. Yep got to love that they literally wrote the black sounding characters to sound dumber and more uneducated to fit the black face minstrel that was common in the day. The reason why this language was still used even though we had black teachers poets and people fighting for their rights was simply to keep black people down it was at a time when slavery is being romanticized and black people were being raped beaten and lynched in the street. Making them sound dumber in a movie about literally being happy with your place in life because with freedom comes trouble made it so that white people just push their ideas that black people aren't equal look how they speak they are not even educated. That was literally part of the movie So much so that if you listen to the soundtracks now even using splash mountain these lines are completely different they are now proper English you know the same way most black people spoke when this movie actually came out instead of the over caricaturized pretty much black face type of character we know

Exactly. I hate seeing Disney continue to totally erase this film. All this hard work by the animators, actors, musicians, etc., should NEVER be erased just because it’s problematic. That’s just erasing history. You don’t censor history, you learn from it. People who want to keep this film as lost media are doing themselves a disservice. James Baskett (Uncle Remus) was the first black man to win an academy award. That’s a huge piece of black American history! Believe it or not, we can celebrate this film’s achievements while also pointing out it’s flaws. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water, y’know? I 100% agree with you. I hope some African-American creators at Disney see the potential of Uncle Remus and the Br’ers and make something much more tasteful outta them. I just want these characters to survive. And if you look at the sing-along CDs and stuff that are on now they are on quite a few the lyrics have been changed from those minstrel lyrics meant to specifically make black people and black characters sound stupid or under educated to proper English. Even Disney realized trying to make certain people sound stupid or undereducated was literally racist to keep them in a certain social standing. Because if they couldn't speak proper English then they probably didn't deserve to be treated as good as white folk

Song of the South is important to Disney's history. They can't keep it in the vault forever. Including this movie on Disney+ would start conversations about it and be used as an educational thing. And this could get people to understand why this movie is considered racist. I bet if Song of the South does come our of the Disney vault, I think they will only make it available on Disney+ for people who do want to watch it and still not release on DVD and Blu-Ray, because I have a feeling that most people who are offended by it won't want to buy it on DVD and Blu-Ray. It's a mixed bag. I like the animated parts and uncle Remes and I LOVE splash mountain but the saccharine nature is considered the problom. That it downplayed Slavery as jolly happy workers who just live on the property (the plantation) instead of the reality of the lack of morality, rights and enslavement. It's like a whitewashed and sanatozed history book that teach that slaves web just unpaid workers who enjoyed their "jobs", were treated well and didn't mind bring owned, but in cinematic form. Ots super wholesome and sweet and fun, but it covers up the dark truth with and cute animals : ( If it was only the animated parts and maybe toned down just toned down the sappy sentimental theme a bit, or set it AFTER slavery, Where Uncle Remes wasn't a slave and his cheer and joyfulness came from being free and enjoying his life of freedom it would be more tactful and appropriate. Either wS its sad Splash mountain is going as it mostly focused on Briar Rabbit's story and not the slavery connotations. I'll still love it for it's good qualities and charm despite its elephant in the room flaws, but still acknowledge that it wasn't right to downplay and glossover racism and slavery. It's a guilty pleasure movie with lots of issues which we know better now and see it for what it is.

Rode Splash Mountain two final times on my vacation to Disneyland. The second was right before it closed for the night tonight. They will shut it down at the end of May. I'm so mad about that! You don't need to see a movie to enjoy the ride. It was YEARS before I finally saw Who Framed Rodger Rabbit, but always enjoyed the ride. Same with Splash Mountain. I saw two of the then 3 Indiana Jones movies but couldn't ride the ride because of my then fear of snakes. I can ride it now, but for a long time couldn't because it scared me as a child. I see nothing wrong with a warning before the film in question before showing something to children. "This portrayal was wrong" or something. Choosing to not have them is a form of book burning and the fact so many seem to be ok with this makes me sick! Like how the Simpsons will never air or release the episode where a character was voiced by Michael Jackson. They even said themselves, "its our book, we choose what chapters we'll burn." Its disgusting!

I am very proud to say that having been to both Disney parts in the span of 3 months apart I just got back yesterday in fact from the LA park kids don't know and I'm very happy they don't Splash mountain will no longer have anything to do with song of the South come 2024 it will be completely gone Not a single young child will actually know of the movie that romanticized slavery and made black people as caricatures to sound more uneducated and was specifically released during a Time black people sought freedom and their rights. A time when they were being raped and beaten in the street. Kids will never know this movie that taught you to be happy with your place in life because with freedom brings trouble. And thankfully so. The kids I did hear ask what the hell this was even about I love that their parents explain to them the truth about why this movie was horrible. About how it pushed a black face character ideal at a time literally meant to keep black people down as under educated and therefore not equal to white people One parent even said because they literally romanticized slavery and even the character of Uncle Remus is happy to be a slave and the little girl asked why they would do that and the explanation the parents gave was incredible People like you might never forget and you might keep romanticizing slavery and these caricatures that are racist as fuck that's fine people like you will die and you'll never come back. But the newer generation knows how horrible it is and I never heard one parent in that whole line ride saying how much they love that movie thankfully. Your thought process your ways are dying along with every other racist that love a movie that characterized black people as dumber happy to be slaves and who should stay in their place in life. People like you are dying out

@@TheCRUDPUPPY Great question is, did Walt Disney think of all of this while making the movie?, Did the actors knew about the book?? Did the people making the movie actually tried to characterized "black" people as dumb? Are they actually slaves because I thought they said the movie takes place after that?? Where are your and the other people sources?? I would like to believe that Walt Disney and the other people that worked on this movie made it with 100% racist intent.
@TheCRUDPUPPY
@TheCRUDPUPPY Жыл бұрын
@@I-mnotarealmoon Walt Disney was a known racist ( referred to sleeping pile of dwarves in Snow White as "a ni***r pile"carried around racist tropes through multiple episodes and movies. Literally called black kids "ni***rs and pickaninnies" also known for not condoning interracial marriage). and anti-semite ( didn't condemn Hitler until commissioned by the US military for works. Portrayed multiple villains in his movies with Jewish stereotypes even making the big bad wolf Jewish in the three little pigs) so did he know what he was doing Yes 100% white America was constantly dumbing down black characters or putting them in rolls of service . He even said women shouldn't be in positions of power and only allowed them to do color work ( And even that was a huge stretch because he didn't really believe at first women should even be in the workplace and treated the same way as men) As for slavery in the movies. You forget romanticizing slavery doesn't necessarily mean the people need to be slaves it means they romanticize the life they had on a plantation to the point they would choose servitude. That's the thing it's never actually clear in the movie but even if they were freed slaves. They are written to choose a life of servitude on a southern plantation. The author who made these stories to begin with also stole them from slaves As he was a child he would hang out with little black children who were taught stories that had specific messages for example with freedom comes trouble. ( Literally brer rabbit learns this and goes back to his home The briar patch AKA the plantation in the original story The animals that chase him some of them want to bring him back kind of like slave catchers but in the end he finds out with freedom comes too much trouble so it's best to just run on home and do what you need to do) Which is the whole point of this movie by the way if you actually look at it This is called glorifying and romanticizing slavery. Romanticizing it to a point that slaves would actually choose to be kept in places of servitude on the plantation that they used to be enslaved in. Making him speak in this way is also head nod to the racist caricature of black people even though there were black school teachers poets scholars at the time even but white America constantly wrote them dumb down This was the 1940s there was no reason to make them speak that way other than to romanticize and caricaturize a really dark part of history And the whole dumb black person thing is a racist trope because acting smart literally got you beat killed or sold. It wasn't for lack of education that slaves spoke like that it was literally to not be killed or sold off and in this movie that's just fun and romanticized And I'm sorry if you think that these people made this movie that was supposed to be 100% non racist you're kind of dumb considering Walt Disney himself was known to be an anti-Semitic misogynist racist And what's really dumb is to be like I don't think they meant to do this when you didn't need to have the plantation there You didn't need to have black people speaking in a dumbed down way You didn't need to have glorified slavery and romanticized slavery with these people in positions of simply servitude This movie came out in the '40s there was no reason to portray black people like this or romanticized slavery in such a way that they would choose to remain servitude to the people that once owned their parents For you to say or think that this was just a wholesome movie is literally looking at it through white tinted glasses I tell you what You tell me why they needed the romanticized slavery the plantation the black dumb-down characters or even the romanticizing servitude part and then I'll admit that it was all done in innocence lmfao

@@TheCRUDPUPPY Sorry if I typed too long. Folklore couldn't be stolen only spread.. If folklore(Old Stories that spread around by mouth) is considered to be "stolen" then many many Movies/Books would had never been made including any movie made by Disney. I think the part you're mainly talking about is "Brer Rabbit runs away", The one in the video is before the tar baby sequence of the story. The lesson behind "brer rabbit runs away" is "Home is the best place to be". The Tar-Baby story teaches "The more you make up a problem where one don't exist, The more you become entangled with it " aka "Don't Make a mountain out of a molehill" All characters talk that way not just the "Black" people that's because they're from(atleast according to the movie) Georgia.. A southern state. I think it's more of a old style southern accent than anything.. even the animated characters talk that way.. The slaves that the anchor heard the stories from were already adults. The anchor would takes trips to the plantation as a kid and listen to the slaves stories, He later would write a book on what he heard.. The books were published during 1880's to 1909(He was 60 years old when he died), Walt brought the rights to the books from the anchor family to base the movie on them mainly because of nostalgia. The movies says that the people who's working at the plantation are sharecroppers. Not every character in the movie is happy and just because some of them are black doesn't mean they're supposed to be depressed and whipped.. They're only doing their Jobs and probably get paid well(They're white people who actually dress the same as the sharecroppers, They do have ripped clothes and no shoes, two of them even fight over a puppy)

@@I-mnotarealmoon they can be stolen when you literally whitewash and change the story The story of brer rabbit in Africa has nothing to do with running away realizing freedom is more trouble and coming home. In the actual tale it's just about his adventures. It was literally changed so that briar rabbit would come back home to a plantation where former slaves are still happily serving their masters. Yeah the tar babies racist so is the dumbing down of characters because rabbit's actually supposed to be smart. so is the dumbing down of only black characters in this movie. So is the romanticism of slavery. The tar baby story doesn't even exist in Africa brer rabbit that's not a thing in Africa atar baby just FYI At the time tar babies were literally made to torture black people you would dip a black person in tar who ran away from slavery. ( You literally named one of the things that was changed and added into the stories to stop kids from running out of plantations) So yeah when you say you can't steal folklore yes you can. You can completely steal folklore and change it into what you want it's called whitewashing and it happens in our history it happens in our stories it happens everywhere all the time in our music. And don't give me that sharecropper bs Like this wasn't supposed to be romanticizing of people in servitude only who are black. Disney himself said " pile of n*ggers * not only referring to the seven dwarfs but black characters in multiples of his movies An old Southern Georgia accent? No that's dumbing down of characters because at the time you were supposed to keep black people in their place You know how you know this? Because there were black teachers black poets we had black scholars at the same time this movie was coming out at the same time this movie was set in we actually had a black Man speak to the government printed and no it's not like that No they were specifically dumbed down because at the time it was better to show black people in a place of servitude and to show that they lacked in education ( You can also tell that it's not just dumbing down of accents because the same accents are given to black characters in later films such as Dumbo's crows) " No pickaninnies" another one of Disney's quotes referring to these movies. That's exactly why the guy is telling the story to a bunch of children that he is still looking after after slavery and that's exactly why the woman who is the cook still plays the big mama role ( Isn't it weird how sharecroppers in this movie just happen to be richer and find clothes and there's no black children around? Weird since sharecroppers brought their families) It's called Romanticism of slavery and romanticizing civil war era Southern racism So don't give me that he just sharecropper. There's only white kids there in fine clothes there's only black people actually working while you see any white adult they are in fine clothes. Don't give me that it's not racist Walt Disney made sure it was racist he was quoted multiple times using racist language specifically Abt blk ppl. AT THAT TIME THE MOVIE TAKES PLACE IN GEORGIA GEORGIA WAS STILL TRYING TO KEEP ITS SLAVES IN FACT GEORGIA WAS ONE OF THE LAST PLACES SLAVERY WAS GOTTEN RID OF BECAUSE A LOT OF TIMES IT WAS HIDDEN. AT THIS TIME IN GEORGIA WHEN THE MOVIE TAKES PLACE THEY STILL HAD PLANTATIONS WITH SLAVES. AND HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SAY ONLY THE BLACK PEOPLE ACCENTS ARE DUMBED DOWN AT A TIME WHEN YOU THINK SHARECROPPING IS GOING ON?!?!!!! Share cropping was done by white and black people who were poor so why would the white people not be talking like the black people? Sharecropping wasn't plantation owners still having black people in servitude while they dress in fine clothes and their kids play outside with a black uncle watching. No that's after the civil war servitude. Multi-millionaires did not give up their plantations for sharecropping. poor people did sharecropping together. At that time not a single plantation owner in Georgia would have been like yes I will not do any of the work but let me give my land to some black people that I still hold in lower regard and still have in a place of servitude. Because that's the whole thing at that time you realize? At that time in Georgia to keep a person in a place of servitude and not give them education to speak properly would mean they could never have an authoritative position. And how is sharecroppers going to bring their whole family to do sharecropping work there's not a single black family or black child only black people taking care of the nicely dressed white kids. Don't give me that sharecropping bull shit I can all day on historical sharecropping and what years it actually started who was doing it and who wasn't in Georgia at that time So these are all good excuses to just kind of whitewash and dismiss the racism happening just like the tails were whitewashed to manipulate generations to begin with. But they are just excuses especially when you know how Walt Disney felt about this film how he quoted things about this film and just by looking at American history and comparing the dates when the movie was released when it was supposed to have taken place and exactly where. And I'm sorry but I'm really tired as someone whose light skin seeing people make excuses and try to twist anything they can just to like a racist film It's as if all white people have this racist seed in their head that they just want to defend when in reality it's f***** up lol but you keep defending that I mean the fact that you honestly defended the stories a black man heard while hanging out with black children on plantations when he was young and defended the use of stories meant to teach them to like their life the way it is and to not seek freedom or happiness because it brings trouble Imagine just imagine defending stories told to children to make them not run away from servitude and slavery imagine defending these stories said to children at the time that were changed from the original versions to literally keep them in servitude and submission Just imagine defending that s*** And then go actually read the real tales the real folklore from Africa because it has nothing to do with f****** tar babies and liking your place in life so you should just stay at the plantation And saying that they're just folklore tales at the guy who wrote is really disgusting they're whitewashed tails remade so that slave children would stay and know their place. It's horrifying to see ppl like that But you keep making up those excuses for yourself to like the romanticism of servitude lack of education just to keep people down in life really cute

I bought a book about the "Nine Old Men" (The nine main animators who animated all of the classic Disney cartoons), and a whole lot of them seemed to love working on Song Of The South. Milt Kahl and Marc Davis (two of the Nine Old Men) in particular stated that it was one of their favorite movies to work on. It's sad enough that Disney won't acknowledge the history of the company, but it's even sadder to know that they're shunning out some of the best work created by the people who made them what they are today. At the very least, they could release the animated segments of the movie and leave the live-action stuff out. I don't see what would be particularly 'racist' about a rabbit, fox, and bear.

"How do you do? Fine, how are you? How you come on?" It seems that the characters in the Song are essentially asking each other 'How are you?' in different ways. for example The first person greets the second person with 'How do you do?' and the second person responds with 'Fine, how are you?' Then, the first person asks 'How you come on?' as a variation of 'How are you?' The second person then answers with 'Pretty good, sure as you're born' to indicate that they are doing well. It's possible that this exchange is included in the song for the purpose of making the lyrics rhyme..

This movie was never remastered or re-released. At the time this was done it was literally people fighting for their rights and these black characters were written in as under educated and basically minstrels romanticizing slavery Because of that the film itself was never remastered or re distributed However you can find splash mountain audio as well as sing-along VHS that do have these songs but the lyrics are actually changed to proper English. Because Disney did realize that the time this film was released the whole point of this film was to make black people seem under educated and tell them basically to stay in their laying because with freedom came trouble just like rabbit found out I hope that explains a poor quality you could still find soundtrack as well as sing along vhs's Disney has put out that have corrected this issue of black face minstrel like caricature

There is nothing racist about this movie and as a military man, my word is law. Disney is not legally allowed to hide this and the government has every right to step in and make them release it. When I seize Disney in a hostile takeover and usher in the Make Disney Great Again era, one of my first official acts will be to release it if it hasn't been already. Real Disney fans will celebrate. I mean what's the worse that could happen? Black America will start a national boycott of all Disney products causing Disney to lose most if not all its black clientele?

Well I don’t want to be a racist but nether was Walt Disney and I don’t believe that he’s racist because he’s not racist person and he’s kind of a good guy towards good African American people and white American people especially when his movies are not being racist too and don’t believe what you read everything on the internet folks.

So, I guess people are happy that Spike Lee is producing the new KKK movie, right called "BlacKkKlansman?" How come nobody is boycotting the new movie now, but they did this movie back in the 60's? Smh

it depicts blacks as nothing but stereotypes, the uncle tom, mammy, and toby the comic relief. White people had a way they wanted to show black people at the time and this movie shows them as just that- unintelligent, and harmless. The blacks all live on the plantation and work for the whites who have way more than them, but theres this weird perfect relationship that creates this fake uptopia between the races when in reality there was lynching and terrible treatment of slaves. that being this movie actually has some really sweet moments between uncle remus and johnny (the white lead), and the message they convey at the end is a happy one into the future. It's a weird movie, and although I don't think it deserves the ban, I understand it.

Actually, they're not slaves. This movie takes place after the Civil War. They're all allowed to leave the plantation. And are you saying it's wrong for the blacks and the whites in the movie to get along? At least, Disney was trying to give the message that people of all races can be friends and there should be no segregation.

Ben Malloy then why are you here, it’s not racist so don’t go around preaching that it is cause you’re wrong just because Uncle Remus talks with a southern voice that would’ve been used in the time that the movie takes place does not make it racist Disney was simply making it accurate so get your facts straight before you make dumb comments!😡😡😡

@@Superstrike_11 It’s because it’s Uncle Remus, and “Tar Baby!” This whole movie is racist, period. It’s because it takes place in the American south during the Civil War in Georgia they say. It was during slavery or it’s based on the American south.

Lexy Dingler the writers wanted to make the actor that played Uncle Remus have the same type of speech as the slave who told the story’s of Brer Rabbit etc. to preserve it not to be Racist, if Disney was racist they surely wouldn’t have taken “Song of the South” away from its fans!😡
