How do you get around copyright on your videos?

I don't always. It's all dependent on which company holds the copyright for any given thing. With this song, for example, the copyright holders are actually allowing my to share ad revenue on this video with them. Some other companies/labels have been like this too, which I admire. A lot of the time, I dispute the copyright under fair use. Some groups, like Kill Rock Stars, typically release the claim within 24 hours which is really cool. Others, like WMG, don't seem to check the disputes and the copyright claim expires after 30 days. Unfortunately, there are a lot of groups, like UMG and Beggars, that reject the fair use dispute and I'm left with whatever viewing restrictions the group deems appropriate. 90% of the time the content is not blocked worldwide, which is nice.

I asked you this question because I would like to create a channel (in French because I am French) that tells the lives of the artists, and the best thing would be for me to put the artists' works in my videos. When you said you share the rights with the artists, it's with a new KZbin tool, right?

@@ocarinaofchess Yeah that’s something I’ve only seen recently in the last year or so. When you upload the video, under the copyright or monetization section it’ll say that it’s “eligible for revenue sharing” or something like that.
