What I think would be really interesting to mention here is a reference to the ancient philosopher - Empedocles of Acragas, who made a notable idea that all things are made up of 4 elements. By virtue of corporeal substances (Love and Strive) these elements can link together and work as an unified whole. Could corporean substances be a "Linchpin" in the context of the song?

I love Fear Factory. This isn't my favorite era of FF. Check out something from Demanufacture like Self Bias Resistor or Zero Signal. Something from Obsolete like Edgecrusher or Descent. Or something from Mechanize like Designing The Enemy
