Thanks so much! This app is amazing; and I use it daily for practicing songs for my band. For covers I look up chords online (and for the harder ones I'll often buy a backing track to practice with from karaoke-version.com) and for originals if I have time I'll manually create the song in SBP, otherwise I'll just import a PDF chord/lyrics chart. Great video thanks. If one of the band mates makes notes, when we sync and he syncs.... won't all those notes get overwritten? Is there a way to avoid this? Example: the drummer adds a note that after the first chorus he does special drum fill, the keyboard person adds note for what sound setting for this song and the guitarist highlights all the F#M chords. Well when we all do a backup and sync (so we can get the new set list for this gig)... many folks notes will be erased. That is not a good thing!
@PianoTone7 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t sync between different people just different devices (your phone, your iPad). I’d share the song files (in songbook pro format) via email with band mates then they will have their own copies they can make their own notes on. Thansk for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe

There are a few additional things that would be extremely useful to understand. 1. What do I need to do to my songg to get it in a format that SongbookPro will interpret (chords, etc.), as most of my songs are already in 'Word or PDF format and aren't necessarily available on Ultimate Guitar. 2. Usig backtracks, how can I incorporate or insert a timer / counter to let me know where I am in a song. There are fantastic bigband tracks available but they are difficult to use without such help.
@PianoTone Жыл бұрын
If you have an existing doc in Word/PDF, you can click on the "+" to add a new song and choose "Import Files" to import it into the app. If it is a word doc, it will import as text that you can edit in the editor; if it is a pdf it will still import but you won't be able to modify the text (it comes in basically like a picture),. As far as setting the timing for scrolling, if you click on the pencil in the top right to edit the song and then go to the advanced tab you can enter the duration of the song; that's what tells the app how fast to scroll the song. You can also enter the time signature and the tempo, which can be used for the built in metronome (which you can turn on or off in the bottom right). But there isn't really a way to "synch" the metronome WITH your backing track; if you need a click track even when playing along with your backing track you would have to add that to the track itself. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe

I can't wait to try this out. I was wondering if I had a friend who has her own library, can I share or add my library to hers, or add her library with mine? I think that this would be a great option to the app, where fellow users like friends and family, to share a song or library to each other, so I can play a song, if a friend doesn't know it, I can send the song chords from my library to hers and she have it instantly.

Hello Tony... Thank you very much for your great videos. I bought a Yamaha PSR-EW425 keyboard due to your recommendation, and I am thrilled with it. I ended up liking SongPro better than the other programs as I sing and play keyboard. Starting about a year or so ago, all my backing tracks disappeared. It says, "File not Found." I have been all over the internet trying to find a solution and have written to the app developer several times with no luck. A couple of musicians online with the same complaint think that everytime the IPad updates, the files are lost. This makes no sense because musicians can't risk showing up to a job and having their entire library disappear. I have my SongPro installed on my Ipad Pro. One musician stated that he had switched to a Samsung tablet and that resolved his problem. Do you think that I really have to spend a lot of money on a Samsung tablet, or is there possibly another solution? Thanks much!
@PianoTone2 ай бұрын
Hi there! Glad you like your EW425 (it is an awesome keyboard). And I use SongBook Pro daily and it is a great app, but every time there's an update it LOOKS like your backing tracks have disappeared. They haven't, it's just the link between the app and the file is somehow lost. All you have to do is (from within SongBook Pro) delete the link and reset it. So long press the PLAY button on a song, and the little window pops up, click the trash can to delete the "link" and then just click the PLAY button again to re-establish the link. I've been meaning to reach out to SBP and ask about this for awhile - I will and if there's any other solution I'll update this comment. As far as the Samsung thing, maybe this issue is only on the iOS version (I use an old iPad). Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe

I bulk imported close to 500 songs into SBP; some of the files went into a folder named "Unassigned" and others showed up in the main database folder named "All Songs" . The thing is, "All Songs" folder doesn't contain all the songs. I need to integrate the songs into one searchable folder. So, I tried copying both partial folders to a third folder, which looks like it might work. Then I tried to delete the "Unassigned" folder and one I named "New" and I can't make them disappear even though they are empty. What am I missing here?

Hello Tony...here is my question for you and maybe some folks here can answer my question.... My lyrics are fine and scroll nicely, but I just need a little help trying to add my MP3 backing track...please & thank you...anyone please... thanks mutely from Gene
@PianoTone3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gene! I use SongBook Pro on my iPad, and I make backing tracks (using various sources) that I play along with on my piano - I did get it all working but it took a bit to figure it all out. At least on the iPad it seems like for SongBook Pro to "see" your songs/tracks they must be in your iPad's actual music library (not just ON the iPad in a folder) which means they have to be added to your iTunes library - I did it this way: - added my tracks to iTunes on my pc - connected my iPad to the pc and then manually copied the tracks from iTunes to my iPad (I also probably could have just synched it instead) - then for each song I went through and connected it to the appropriate track (I did see some flaky behaviour where if I changed a track to a new version it seemed like ALL the tracks in Songbook Pro had to be reconnected again to their appropriate tracks) But now that I've gone through all that; I LOVE it - before I would open the files app on my iPad, start the track, then quickly switch to Songbook and start the songsheet scrolling. If you're not on an iPad, then not sure what to suggest other than possibly trying to add your mp3's to either iTunes or to your device's default "music" folder / app? Hope that helps! If not, try contacting the developer directly at songbook-pro.com/get-in-touch/

@PianoTone3 жыл бұрын
It says on their website that it works with android - I know it has page turning pedal functionality so you would think your pedal should work? I don't have an android device so I haven't tested the app on that - if you want to contact SongBook Pro to ask them they have a documentation & contact page here: songbook-pro.com/helpdesk/

@@PianoTone thank you very much. It looks like it cost around 6 dollars, not sure if thats monthly or one time. And not sure if it cost for each song you download. The support wouldnt answer me how it charges you.

@@garyclements318 Hey again - I just remembered (sorry I bought this so long ago I forgot); you can download it and try it out for free (so you can test it on your android and you can test your pedal). The free version is limited to 12 songs, that's all. So you should grab it and test it out. And if you decide to buy it, it is crazy cheap; only around $6 and that's a one time fee, then you can download as many songs as you want (there is no charge for songs - the songs don't come from Song-Book Pro - the app just connects to song sources online like Ultimate Guitar). Hope that helps!

@@PianoTone Thank you for responding. I think i will give it a go. I mainly need it for lyrics and notes above the changes. I just bought my android tablet and pedal. Having hard time making them jive together trying google drive, pdf stack and other things, headache if you know what i mean Also im wondering if you can use it offline once you got your songs? I do gigs in the mountains where u easily lose connections. Thanks again. Im going to sub now.

Can this app record audio?

No it's meant for displaying song sheets/chord charts and playing your backing tracks while the song sheet scrolls. Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe

Do you know if you can access your songs from your cloud account? Like if I'm using Google drive, can I add charts by adding them to drive?
@PianoTone3 жыл бұрын
I use the app on my iPhone and iPad, so for those I use the sync feature with OneDrive and there is a Google drive option there as well. I don’t think it works in such a way that you can just save your files there and they will appear in the app - you have to use the synch feature in the app to refresh that device’s data. I’m not sure if the pc version of the app works differently or not. Hope that helps, thanks for visiting the channel!

Question: When you download a tune, is it possible to have just the lyrics scroll without the chords?
@PianoTone2 жыл бұрын
Yes there’s a “lyrics only mode” I use for songs I’ve played so many times I’ll never need the chords again :). Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe

How to remove a song from songbook pro
@PianoTone2 жыл бұрын
Click the 3 lines with the check mark in the bottom right side of the menu above “settings” that will put a checkbox beside each song - then you can select and click the trash can. Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe

Thank you! Do you have to pay for the SongBook pro on each of your devices, and then figure out the sync thing so I see the same info on each device? For instance, I have a laptop, iPad and iPhone. The price is right, but I couldn't find any info on that online.
@PianoTone2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I'm pretty sure you pay for it once, and can use it on iPad and iPhone and sync (assuming you have the same Apple ID account on your iPad and iPhone). If it's a Windows laptop I THINK you will need a second account for that one (and you probably won't be able to sync between that and your Apple devices). I use it on my iPad and iPhone and it works great. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe

@@PianoTone Thanks. I bought it on my iPad, and then put the app on my iphone. Both have the same apple ID, etc., but on my phone it doesn't recognize that I bought it already. My main concern is having them synced. I can buy again, but am afraid they'll be thought of as 2 different accounts. I'll keep working on it.

How many songs can I store?
@PianoTone4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! The free version is (I believe) limited to 12 songs, once you buy the full version I don't think there is a limit (other than what your device can store). You could confirm that by contacting the software developer if you like on their site at songbook-pro.com/

This is perfect. The only reason I was still using paper is so I can write my own notes on my chord sheets. I'll be purchasing this! I play keyboard also. The backing tracks I'm planning to use are from Jamzone, drums and bass only. I'm planning on connecting my iPad to the aux in of my keyboard, and while the Jamzone track is playing, I will be recording that song onto a USB plugged into my keyboard. So, when I'm ready to play, all my backing tracks will just come from my USB. I will only need my ipad for Songbook Pro. Have you tried this setup yet with Jamzone on USB via keyboard?
@donnar2782 жыл бұрын
Or.... Is there a way I can get my Jamzone tracks incorporated into Songbook via itunes somehow?
@PianoTone2 жыл бұрын
@@donnar278 You can do it through iTunes (that was on a Songbook Pro update a while back), OR you can now do it just from files in a folder (an even more recent update). Proabaly a stupid question, but do you have to buy the app for every device or can you transfer your account?
@PianoTone3 жыл бұрын
I bought it once and downloaded to my iPad and iPhone - both those devices use the same Apple ID so I assume that’s why I only had to pay once. Then I can synch them (manually) with each other using Microsoft one drive. I usually always make edits just on the iPad and then synch those changes to one drive and then open it on the phone and synch to download new stuff/changes.

3/4 ????????
@PianoTone3 жыл бұрын
Hi there - not quite sure what you’re asking? You can specify a song as 3/4 if you like but it doesn’t really do anything - if you are using the built in metronome you will get a beat sound/flash every beat based on the rpm (but the metronome beat doesn’t accent a new measure or anything); I never actually use the built in metronome. Hope that answers your question! Thanks for visiting the channel, feel free to subscribe
