What a remarkable servant of the Lord. It was my unspeakable privilege to be in his orchestra for five years and sing in his concert chorale. I always loved his conducting style...his life was a testimony of the wonderful grace of God

This dear man is is GREATLY missed!!!!! Rest In Peace Dr. Gustafson until our LORD comes to take us home!!!!! I had the opportunity to attend a music camp at BJU in the summer of 1997. I had heard of Dr. Gustafson and others from some of our college students that were attending BJU from our school (Faith Christian School in Fremont, MI).

In recent years two more faithful men have gone on ahead of us Frank Garlock and Ron Hamilton. Can you even imagine the magnificent sound in glory as we with these sing praises to our Savior and our God

I haven't seen my uncle's dad for a long time, but everyone I know was impacted by this man in a good way. Thank you for your contribution to the world Mr. Gustafson. You will be missed.

The master meets the Master. My teacher, my friend , always in awe of the tremendous talent God graced him with. I will always remember those days in late 50's and early 60's of brilliant performance and intellect on display. A man whose towering presence could intimidate, kept under control by an understanding who had given him the abilities to compose, direct, teach , encourage. Not many will walk in his pathway under the banner of the Word Of God and a Saviour who loved the world. That world has seen its greats come and go, only the Kingdom of God had its " Dr. Gus". "Songs of Deliverance" is one of many works he composed. England has John Rutter, America had Dr. Dwight Gustafson.

Thank you for posting this recording. It was spiritually refreshing and aurally cleansing. Playing trombone under Dr. Gus in groups like this one remains one of the highlights of my life.
