Hi Tony, I was unawhere of that. I think that is a form of censorship. They always go to far. I think that is crazy

I wasn’t aware either.

I did not know that Tony, not surprised at all as the world was dark enough after 9-11, nobody wanted to hop on radio and go to a dark place…

I agree with you. It was a terrifying day.

Very interesting topic! Thanks for the video on this, some of the songs you mentioned should not be on the list..Happy 4th of July holiday, take care Allan

Thank you. I agree some of the songs shouldn’t be. But those time were tumultuous.

I find it odd that some of those songs were on that list. Rage Against The Machine always was anti U.S. govt. So I get that. Partly why they were so popular with my age group. Im not sure it's outright sensorship. However, there is a time and place with some things. For me, I was 20 years old and in college on 9/11. I was scared. Scared for my safety, my loved ones and for the country. Up until that point, my only experience of actual war was the Persian Gulf, which lasted less than a week. I was pretty naive and sheltered up until that point in time. My brother was at boot camp in Parris Island, SC. Knowing that we would be heading for war, I was terrified I might lose my brother. Eventually, he would spend 18 months in Afghanistan. My view of the world changed on that day. So again, maybe there is simply a time and place for things. I dont remember focusing on music at that time, but a friend of mine was quoting the song "Juicy" by Notorious B.I.G. The song has a lyric in it "gettin paid, blow up like the World Trade." This in reference to the '93 World Trade bombing which was not nearly as tragic. I wonder, is that song on the list? Anyway, it's an interesting topic. I didn't know anything about this. I do remember a swell of helping each other and a sense of American pride, as we were all attacked as a nation. It didnt matter your race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. We were all hurting and UNITED. And here we are 23 years later and people are arguing over the dumbest stuff. Seems like we are spilt on every level.

Thank you for stopping by and telling me your story. It was a tumultuous time. I don’t think Juicy was on the list.

Hi Tony. New sub here. I remember reading about this list and thought it was bizarre how they banned RATM entire catelog, but i dont recall all of the other hard core death metal catelogs being banned (not that those are typically played on mainstream radio), but it seemed hypocritical to me. Too cheery.. too depressing... too triggering... it seemed weird what they were really trying to do here with censorship. Anyways, enough ranting. I enjoyed this one. Cheers, Darryl.

Hello Darryl…. I thank you so much for stopping by , watching and subbing to my channel. Yes the list of music, really doesn’t have rhyme nor reason. As far as RATM, as one viewer suggested, most of their songs are antigovernment. I wouldn’t know , I’m not too familiar with their music. I thank you for subbing i hope you like my channel.

Wow had no idea! So strange the songs picked lol I didn’t even notice these songs disappeared but I did remember music sucked after 2001… maybe this is why

I was just researching some music when i came upon an article about the banning of songs on the radio. It is interesting on the choices.

Weird list. Like most other commenters I was not aware of this…suggestions like this inevitably lead to censorship unfortunately.

The list is really crazy. But it was a crazy time.

I did not know this. I wouldn't call it censorship, since it was only 'suggested,' but most of it certainly sounds like BS or being overly sensitive. I suppose if you played What a Wonderful World after such a national tragedy, it may have been taken in the wrong way. But Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds? Geez, music is such a comfort to many of us. Don't take away our Beatles when we need them the most!

I think over sensitive is correct. But i guess it was a tumultuous time. We didn’t want to offend?

Hi Tony. I bet ole Rodger Waters would've made that list 😅. Was Smokin in the Boys Room on it!?. Have a great 4th Bud.

I bet he would have too. Smokin in the boys room was not on the list. I think they missed one.
