this song is quintessential Band Maid. And that entire first minute or so? Basically a throw away bit the ladies cooked up for the tour... that probably is already changed for their upcoming tour. But not actually "part" of the studio track. That's one of the bits I love is... Kanami is just a riff generator and never seems to worry about running out of ideas. She puts more riffs into one song than most bands put on a whole album.

Sacramento is by no means Japan, but you may want to consider planning a trip to see B-M in Sacramento at the Aftershock festival, which also includes many other acts probably on your bucket list (or that you at least like a lot). The rest of the October U.S. tour is just about completely sold out, but you can still get tickets to all four days of Aftershock, or any one of them. B-M plays Sunday, which Foo Fighters are headlining. (I'm not paid to promote the festival, btw, just letting S&T and anyone else here know about it if they did not.)
@johnmatthew1022 жыл бұрын
Tickets can be had, it's just what price do you want to pay for them? The resellers (scalpers) were ready for this tour it seems and they are part of the reason for the sellouts. EBay, Stubhub, Ticketmaster, etc, have plenty of tickets starting at 2x the face value. These reselling groups skim large profits for doing next to nothing while gouging the average working person that's just trying to get tickets to their favorite group.

Play was originally an instrumental but Saiki thought it was such a blast that she asked Miku to write some lyrics for it and who could blame her. The guitar sound issue definitely seems to be an issue withe the Line Cube recording as it is not the case with what I've seen of the Zepp recordings where Kanami's guitar is very upfront so if you can find stuff from that concert (not available as official videos apart from Real Existence which you've already done) then I think you will be happy.

love your content and im a huge band-maid fan. fun fact that someone may have pointed out in one of your other reactions but incase no one did here we go... Jimmy Page went to one of their concerts and loved Akane's drumming so much that after the show he wanted to go back stage and get a picture with her, when they told her she thought they were joking. Jimmy Page said "she is one of the best drummers he has EVER heard. coming from the legendary Jimmy Page no one can even begin to make an arguement otherwise. Akane "the Gorilla" as nicknamed by the band is with out question one of the best in the world today. Kanami (who needs no nickname) is an unbelieveable guitarist and lead composer. Misa "the barefoot assassin" cause she always plays barefoot and sneaks up and just slaughters you with her bass playing, Miku "Pigeon" the second guitar and lead song writer and basically the woman that brings everyone together is just amazing in so many ways. and last but certain by no means least Saiki "the Ice Queen" on lead vocals is just The angel in black with the voice that grabs you by your soul and brings you to enlightenment. i am not a musician or singer but music is the largest thing that takes me away from the madness that the world throws at me. for any musicians out there, being good at your instruments is great, but having the love and friendship that these ladies have brings their shows to a level that very few even come close to. the interaction they have on stage with each other and with the crowd is breathtaking.

I am raised listening to classical music...every day. My favourite composer is Beethoven and rarely go past a day without listing to one of his works. I started learning a guitar 8yrs ago, am 22 now. I have hand disability's so can not play some full chords but i enjoy it. I came across Bandmaid by accident on YT, I think they are near my age so I really loved them. I am not used to any pop music or any other bands, altho my girlfriend loves Led Zepplin...I think they are to wonderful. We both love Bandmaid and have even thought about buying maid costumes.....joke! Altho i wood dress like Misa, but being only 5'-2' may be Miku little dress wood be better. Any way my great love is collecting guitars and i have now 43 which include Gibsons, Fenders, Taylor, Martin, I also have bought cheap ones in Germany from Thomann and they too are great for the money. My worst buy is a Gibson SJ200 which is huge, I can hardly hold it to play. I also play bass as well but find reaching the top of the fret board difficult, becos my arms are qite short. “Play” was meant to be an instrumental for only Kanami, Misa, & Akane to play. Saiki & Miku heard them rehearsing and enjoyed the music so much, they wanted to make a song of it. Miku quickly penned some lyrics and the song “Play” was born. They usually play a cool instrumental leading into the song. Akane’s pedal work is phenomenal along with Misa’s bass. There’s a fantastic 2017 live version that has a different intro that is heavier and was before Miku was playing in the intro.
