Just the way you said Thank God there at one point of your review and looked at the ceiling. Is exactly the way I felt when I first saw this band about 2 months ago. I'm a little late to the party myself. I've been a classic and hard rock fan for probably 45 years or more. My last favorite rock band that came out was Van Halen. Finally a group that's playing it all right. And checking off all the necessary boxes for a change These ladies are the real deal. They also sound amazing live. 95% of the male bands out there are not as good as them ! Not only that they can take multiple genres of music and use them all in one song. Their song structuring is incredible, their musicianship cannot be denied !

The band was founded by the rhythm guitarist her name is Miku Kobato where she worked in a maid cafe before she thought it would be cool to start a band then found the lead guitarist Kanami Tono on youtube and recruited her. Kanami knew an amazing drummer named Akane Hirose and added her to the band and then Akane knew a friend from music school who played the sickest bass you will ever hear named MISA and convinced her to join as well. Thats how the virtuoso rhythm section was formed. Miku realized that her voice was too weak for the heavy rock sound so she decided to add Saiki Atsumi as the vocalist who is also from her agency. Thus BandMaid was born. All of their songs are mainly written and arranged by Kanami and Miku is the lyricist with all of the members adding their own flavor to each song thats why they sound soo good live. Fun fact: Miku Kobato didnt know how to play the guitar when she started the band. Kanami taught her how to play the rhythm guitar and in just 6 years has become a great player complementing the 3 genuises of the rhythm section Kanami, Akane and Misa. 💙

Anyhoo "Rinne" (re-incarnation) the last track on the album is seriously heavy, and "Blooming" - both show the developing maturity of Kanami's musical composition. You might know but perhaps some of your viewers don't. Band-Maid appears at Inkcarceration 2020 on July 11th held at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield. The prison used in the Shawshank Redemption. They tell me 40,000 attended last year. Band-Maid will finally get the audience they deserve here. And they will be appearing on the Netflix production of "Kate" playing themselves. Potentially exposing our ladies to hundreds of thousands who might not have even heard of them yet. Nice to have you back.

Band Maid is the best thing to happen to rock & roll in a long time. It's a surprise they aren't bigger than they currently are. I know I commented a few hours back but wanted to add, your reaction was and is the same as most( I’m a 65 year old metal head/rock) these girls are freaks no way they are this good(all of them) they are old school. I’ve listened to about 50 of their compositions they are old souls channeling real rock. Finally somebody who does reviews is finally opening up the Band Maid treasure chest. I follow a number of reviewers like yourself on KZbin. And I have suggested too many of them to check this band out. And it's like nobody wants to be the first. You've got to do the official video for the song Thrill ! As you can see they are amazing. You could do two weeks worth of reviews just on this band. And they are well worth it. Leave it to these beautiful talented phenomenal Japanese musicians. To save rock and roll !

Love Band Maid. Only discovered them this past summer and found out about them in time to see them in concert in NYC this past Sept. They are awesome live. Definitely my new favorite group. Waiting for you guys to do much more Band-Maid music. Go back to one of the earlier works. Do a review of the official video for the song Thrill. They are an all-around amazing band. Able to take multiple genres not only incorporating them as a band into their music. But multiple genres in each song. There hasn't been a band that has come along in ages. That has really got me into them like Band-Maid. We are probably around the similar age. I will be 55 in May. The last band that I really got into like this was Van Halen. And that's coming from a classic rock / hard rock standpoint. I loved the reactions on your faces when first playing this. I think most of us felt the same way. But at the same time we're so thankful for it. I hope these ladies get a major push in the states in the near future and i hope to see you do more reviews of them !

Nice reaction, I reacted the same as you. I've been totally impressed with their entire catalog of tunes. They are top notch musicians. You were not the only ones to be blown away by this band. Jimmy Page commented about the drummer Akane after seeing the band play live in Tokyo in 2016. He complimented Akane and said she was the reincarnation of John Bonham. Akane was star struck. She later said Mr Jimmy Page-san offered her much encouragement and wanted to snap a photo with her. Not a bad endorsement. You should revisit Band-Maid and their latest album. I did not think it was possible to impress me any further than they already have but I was wrong and they did it again.

I never imagined band-maid could top 'world domination' album or this level of performance... but they did. During this lock down, they just practiced more and worked harder, and came up with the best album ever. Their new album unseen world will introduce you to 'unseen world'. Their more recent songs: Blooming Rinne Different Warning Manners No God Black Hole H-g-k Giovanni The last 4 are literally insane. I mean, you can't call this performance insane anymore. And yes. They are still active and will be for many, many more years. They have ballads with blues jazz, rock edge, and/or prog as well. Try onset or without holding back if you're interested in instrumentals.

They have been together since 2014. You have to listen to Onset. Plus Freedom live. They are cohesive in their play. Story is that Jimmy Page was at their concert. And asked to meet drummer after show, and passing he mentioned that he believes she reincarnation if John Bohmen.

One thing I really enjoy in both J-Rock and J-Pop is the layering of vocals. One band I enjoy alot is Iron Bunny. You will be amazed at there guitarists.
