For the last year's I have sat behind my phone/ TV watching live videos of these ladies perform and was blown away. The chance arose of seeing them play live in their N.American tour. I arrived home yesterday to Liverpool, England after the 3 Texas shows. The journey of 4762 miles were totally worth the journey as seeing them play live is just a surreal experience. In the small intimate venues where you get eye contact and interactions, smiles, winks facial expressions is just priceless. Then moving on to the actual performances of their songs ,there are no words. Sublime. Every The Warning fan must experience this!! Great reactions. Looking to more SOON. 🤟

After having their first US headlining tour aborted by the start of the pandemic, the Villarreal sisters are finally *seriously* breaking out! Besides getting picked to open for the Foos in Mexico (smart choice, btw), they're FINALLY running that headlining tour, then going out with Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless, this summer. (Not to mention SO MANY festivals!) Yeeeaaahhhh! Rock on, guys! 🤘😎👍

I've been in TWA a short time, just over 4 months. Everyone keeps saying you have to see TW live, they're just incredible live. Well I've watched tons of live footage, plus everything from the Mayday EP, and I've loved everything. Haven't heard anything I don't like, and they're by far my favorite band. So last week I had a chance to drive 6 hrs to see them, and I debated. Should I go, will it make that much difference, I already love them now, etc. I finally decided to go. Well, what everyone says is true. This band is incredible live. You have to experience it to understand. I went to soundcheck and Pau was working on that snare piece that you were just talking about. It felt like an earthquake hitting you. You just have to experience it. When I got home, I immediately looked for other shows I might make. Three days later I'm in the car driving 12 hours from Atlanta to Dallas, and they were even better. Now I understand why TWA members fly from all over the world to see these amazing young women. Great review as always.

I saw them live in April (small venue). They sound as good in person and they put on a show, as well as performing the music, if anything, better than the studio recordings. Pau hits the drums so hard - when you consider she's only about 150cm tall, it's insanely impressive. There are subtle differences between the verses, as their are in most Warning songs.

The through line of their songs is always so clean and clear, that is the melody, the riff, hook after hook grab you. It comes of as 'simple', yet they are brilliant arrangers, and that simplicity is something of an illusion. You noted the interesting harmonies, there may be a counter rhythm in the drums or guitar, a second melody or response in the lead guitar (which in this song sounds almost like a Duran Duran synth line), even something as subtle as Pau slamming the one when they hit the main riff to almost give it a funk feel. There are always interesting, subtle details that never distract but add so much spice. 🔥

And if you look at any video clips from their current tour, and they are plentiful since every single show they've done the past few months have been streamed or uploaded by multiple different people, you'll notice they move around A LOT. I mean, really a lot. A couple times Dany has run out into the audience. Yes, they move quite a bit. I have wanted to write this for a while now. I am pretty sure Songs & Thongs will probably never see this but it is my thoughts regarding the whole Liliac vs. The Warning. I was a Liliac fan before discovering The Warning. I loved Melody's voice and their amazing talent in doing fantastic covers but I just don't feel they can progress past doing covers. Their last album was not that great to me (personal opinion). Talentwise they have all the tools but I don't believe they have the writing skills to progress very far. Add into that what seems to be a need to add a mandatory Sam guitar shred solo to every song and Melody becoming way too dramatic in her performances and they have lost me. I wish them luck but have stopped following them. The Warning have unique songs and amazing writing. Yes, they are only 3 people but they make rock music that I like and I love that any one of the 3 ladies can pick up the lead vocals at any time and carry a song. They do not have egos that require "look at me" solos but do what the song requires. As they have matured they have upped their game so much. I though XXI Century Blood was a great album only to be completely outdone by Queen of the Murder Scene, only to be outdone again by Mayday and no-doubt Error. They are so proactive in marching forward and making their music interesting. I see them as lightyears ahead of Liliac in so many ways. Yes, signing to a label provides you with a lot of ability to do those things but their creativity is just leaps and bounds ahead. Liliac seems unwilling to do that (I believe Papa Liliac is actually holding them back some) and if that is the case I see their ceiling approaching quickly. Again- I wish Liliac the best but there is no comparison for me between the two bands.

@ Tim Nye Thank you for for putting into words what I have long tried to say about the difference between The Warning and Liliac. Fangs get offended when the shortcomings are pointed out. Sorry guys The Warning Rocks And Rules! 🤘😎🤘#1
@timnye7182 жыл бұрын
@@Nancy-nc4sw As you may have guessed by my careful choice of wording, I am not trying to offend anyone but there are just these obvious things that I cannot deny. When Melody became Melo-Dio I saw the change and warned the Fangs then but was poo-pooed. When it became obvious that every song had to have the Sam Solo regardless whether it was needed or not I saw the direction they were going in. When it became noticeable the lack of new "original" material I saw the shortcomings. They all have amazing talent but they just seem like their standing at the end of the dock.... no place to go (but covers). My concern was always that it would turn into Melo-Dio and the rest, or worse yet both she and Sam would become too big for the band.
@ronhall5395 Жыл бұрын
I have follow both bands. I agree Papa is probably holding Lilac back a bit. Last album is much better. Just the obligatory Sam solo seems forced at times. Very talented for sure. Lilac does a few things I don't like. Not off putting just seems strange. I guess they are attempting to put a spot light on their best talents but seem to.ignore or just keep in the background the younger band members. The Warning and Police will both get there, I just think the are very different types of bands. Love the new young talents coming up.
