Epica is another rabbit hole as deep as Nightwish. I recommend Kingdom of Heaven PT 1, PT2, PT3 be done as separate reactions. They are off three different albums and kind of stand alone. Highly recommend the Omega Live version of PT3. For some other recommendations, Design Your Universe and Chasing the Dragon from the Retrospect concert. Abyss of Time and Skelton Key music videos from Omega album. Last Unchain Utopia and Skelton Key from Omega Alive ( I know I mentioned Skelton Key twice but both versions are awesome and worth reacting to separately.

YES FINALLY MORE EPICA! Split Kingdom of Heaven into 3, they are three very different songs, and yes they are long but it's all pure gold. Number one is almost progressive melodic death metal, number two leans heavily on the symphonic side, while number 3 is... Melodic progressive symphonic death metal? lol

Epica is for me by far the best symphonic metal band on this planet! This band has everything what I need. Big choirs, big orchestra's in combination with pure metal and a really beautiful crystal clear voice from Simone and of course the amazing growls from Mark. Well also if it becomes to the metal they are just phenomenal with ballads, heavier stuff with death metal elements and everything in between! And you guys should react to some top notch productions from the stream they did earlier this year called Omega Alive. This show is recently released on bluray and dvd!

Great reaction! Epica's 2013 Retrospect 10th anniversary concert is basically their version of Nightwish's 2013 Wacken - Two of the best-recorded live concerts EVER! I suggest "Design your Universe", "Unchain Utopia" or "Unleashed".

About Kingdom Of Heaven trilogy you can just make three separate videos. Here's link to the part no.1 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hneYZ3dvotefmc0 . It's a mix of original studio track (which is important) and live footage from concert in Mexico with english and spanish subtitles (although you can hear the audience in some parts of the video) . The quality it's not premium because it was made by fans, but definitely is enough and probably is the best you can find for that specific song.

I like your thought about Epica being "quite marketable" to "normal people" than other metal bands, but I'm not so sure about it. There' a great melodic part and that could be good for everybody, there's the symphonic session - and here some could already wrinkle his nose - and finally there's growling, and that's definitely unacceptable to "normal people" 😅

Epica is amazing, but there are more great Dutch metalbands. You should definitly check out "Dear Mother" With their debut album "Bulletproof". They are a new dutch metalband formed by ex-Delain guitarist Merel Bechtold and ex-Delain drummer Joey de Boer. They teamed up with David "Pear" Hruska as their vocalist. Its realy worthwhile! I would hold off on Kingdom of Heaven not due to the complexity but there are so many pieces you can see what Epica is about. I would go for a concert track 'Consign to Oblivion' Live at the Zenith - it should check all the boxes for you (and keep an eye on the keyboardist throughout the song.)
