This was one of the best mashups done on Glee. Naya singing "Heads Will Roll" in the background throughout really pulls this mashup together. I always enjoyed Naya's background vocals on songs and she really was a part of some of the best mashups that were performed on Glee. My favorite cover from Glee is the "Rumour Has It/Someone Like You" mashup which Naya was also a part of.

Yeah, I'm usually of the opinion that most mash-ups take 2 great songs and make one mediocre one, but this pairing is awesome. When Naya is just hammering on those "Heads will Roll" during the monologue piece, it's just magic!

The kid who plays Artie has an awesome voice and can dance like no tomorrow..... I'd assume if he was like 15% more handsome, they'd have just cast him as Finn. I mean come on, his voice is as good or better and he's a better dancer in the wheelchair than Finn already lol

the coach made them work together so the football players and glee club are all dancing together for the football halftime show :) finn’s voice is also just edited, he sang that part and they made his voice way deeper

If you listen to the glee version on the album......its finn's/cory's voice. It isnt edited. The deep voice. They were trying to imitate the original voice from the Thriller song.

There is an event called “Thrill the World”, where everyone at the same time does the Thriller dance. I organized a local chapter, and did the Radio Edit of this song instead, it ROCKED! The key difference was, where Audrey was like “There could’ve been a belt”, was our group had 4 rows of dancers. At that moment, it’s an 8 count before vocals come back, so we did a cascade effect, where it was: Row 1; count 1 &2, row 2; count 3 & 4, row 3; count 5 &6, and row 4; count 7 & 8. I wish we got it on video, though.

This episode is all about the football team and the glee club combining to fix the bullying. So, the bully got slushies then went back to being stupid and then they all joined (after some persuasion) and enjoyed it. He along with all the other bullies got kicked off the team but was allowed back after they did this number.

Fun Fact: I read somewhere that “Heads Will Roll” was actually the second choice for this mash up with “Thriller. “ There was another song the producers wanted, but couldn’t get the rights to. For the life of me, I can’t remember what the 1st song choice was and I haven’t been able to find where I read that. If anyone know, lmk!

Most of the songs that they have on the show aren't their full version-they cut them for time. Sometimes they get the full gist but many times they'll edit the good parts out. It's interesting to compare them to their full recordings. For example, this song (Make no Mistake (She's Mine)) went from 4:14 to only 1:54 on the show. Dave Karofsky was on the football team and was Kurt's nemesis and for a while later on dated Blaine. He was gay but in the closet while in high school. In this episode, Mr. Schu and Coach Biest, in an effort, to stop the bullying of The NDs by the football team mandated that the jocks would rehearse and perform for the halftime show of the championship game. Karofsky became anxious that if he did he would be labeled gay, but when he saw the reaction of the crowd he gave in and joined the other performers. Kurt and Blaine were at Dalton Academy. I don't remember Mercedes in this one.
