Man, God's voice is so deep. lol. I loved this performance. I don't know if you've seen the Magicians. But they have several musical numbers throughout their 5 seasons. They even do One Day More from Les Mis, Under Pressure, and Take on Me. Those are the three best ones in my opinion.

Interesting thing to note based on your display about him not ever actually taking a drag of a cigarette, SPOILER ALERT IF U PLAN ON WATCHING THE SHOW . . . . . I'm pretty sure, but not certain that it's because in one of the early episodes he becomes friends with a preacher that often put a cigarette in his mouth even though he quit years ago. That preacher passed away in the episode and Lucifer adopted that idea from him. One of the best episodes in the show because it's one of the first times it shows Lucifer's soft and caring side for humanity. (Episode 1x09 btw)

Loved this whole episode and how well this song worked for the two characters. My only critique is that I think they were focusing so much on singing the song (a challenging one certainly) proficiently that it loses some of the raw emotional power the song packs. On the other hand they both nailed that crescendo which gives me chills when done well.

I love this performance. Unfortunately, it's a HUGE foreshadow. Totally made me figure out how season 5 would end. This one is the one that he sounds most like Tom and the least like Lucifer. I think you're opinion would be much improved if you realized that part of the reason Tom had issues with certain notes in I Dreamed a Dream is because they had a very difficult time filming this without him breaking down. He truly imbodied his character in this episode, especially. He was truly heart-broken.
