Pitch correction has been around since 1979....I had one in my PA rack. Was in my first band back in 1969. I can guarantee that pitch correction was used in the production of this album.

@@BlazinRiver1 Hmmm... So, Bohemian Rhopsody was first released on Queen's A Night at the Opera album. And ... that album was released in 1975, so obviously Freddie and Co. had a time machine and used it to time-travel to 1979 to record (or maybe even 30 years from now?) and then time-travel back to 1975 with a really good sounding vocal recording on this track. YEAH!!! That's how they did it!! It wasn't talent, honed practice and diligent effort. NO WAY!!! "Guaranteed PITCH CORRECTION!!!" LMAO

@@thomassicard3733 = Eventide, a well-known manufacturer of effects units, made its mark with the Harmonizer H910, the world’s first digital effects unit, which it introduced in 1975. The H910 was an early type of pitch correction device, and while it was a far cry from the Auto-Tune plug-in, it allowed users to make modest pitch corrections, but by today’s standards, its pitch corrections capabilities were extremely limited. There is a strong likelyhood the Eventide H910 would have been available to Queen for their recording sessions, as Bohemian Rhopsody was recorded at 5 studios... and Queen was using state of the art equipment and leading edge producers and engineers.... So YES... pitch correction existed in 1975... _when Bohemian Rhopsody was recorded._ ... no one knows if it was used....

I love watching people react to Bohemian Rhapsody. When my daughter was 12 she came running in the door after school, was so excited to share a “new band, new song” she heard at school. I loved watching her reaction you can't fake that! It reminds me of my granddaughters reaction. Freddie Mercury would be thrilled to see what is now the third generation of teenagers growing up with a love for Queen. Wayne's World brought this song back for the second generation and Bohemian Rhapsody the film for this one. Keeping their music just as current as it was wayyyyy back in the 70s. Insuring Freddie Mercury lives on forever and one day 👑

I just loved this reaction, the shock of your daughter, with you playing the slightly wicked yet proud father who opened her eyes and ears to a new life experience. In fairness, we should say that most people on Planet Earth were shocked the first time that they heard this. Korean rapper Psy said "it took him about six months" to process and come to terms with this song. Winston Churchill said (of history) "the further back I look, the further forward I can see". The same can be said of music, as your daughter is just beginning to find out. We all want to see more of this journey, please!

Aww - to the power 10! 🥰 I had tears in my eyes 😢 I was a UK primary (elementary) school child (8yo) when this came out. I remember watching it on TV ("Top of the Pops " UK) with my Dad (Mum doesn't like rock music!), eyes like saucers and my jaw dropping open. When it finished, I just sat in silence utterly shocked. My Dad said "Did you like that, my little goldfish?" and I nodded as hard as I could! Fast forward to early 2000's and I remember my son as a 7yo watching the same video and the only thing he said throughout the song (at regular intervals) was "Wow!". I cried when he watched it as it was so amazing to see the joy of such incredible music through his eyes. Thank you for sharing this, both of you ❤ Jo x

You should show her Queen at Live Aid! Queen was in a slump on the charts, but this performance put them back on top, as Freddie Mercury (who was starting to feel his sickness) ABSOLUTELY OWNED the crowd! Even other musicians knew it was the best performance of the event! In fact, afterward, Elton John waited outside Freddie's trailer and when Freddie came out, Elton yelled at him; "You bastard!" and started laughing. Everybody knew that he stole the show and put Queen back on the map and the sales after that reflected it! Make sure to find the full show though (over 20 minutes long).

That was absolutely _delightful_ to watch!! I absolutely _adore_ watching the newer generations listen to and fall in love with Freddie and Queen. Gives me just a tiny taste of what it felt like for _me_ doing the same thing when I was little, dancing around the living room with my Dad to his Queen collection on full blast 🤩❤ And yeah, the fact they did it all without the benefits (or downsides, depending on your personal viewpoint) of auto-tune is just amazing! The things music producers had to do to get the effects you hear in older music just boggles the mind. Especially towards the mid-to-late 70s and into the 80s. Their experimentation really did pave the way for the generations today to enjoy some pretty spectacular technical and musical effects on songs.

According to Brian May, Mike Meyers wanted the band's approval to use Bohemian Rhapsody in Wayne's World. They pulled togetrher a rough cut of the scene in the car, and sent it to May for approval. When Brian got it, like weeks before Freddie died, he took it over so they could watch it together. Freddie laughed himself sick, talking about how they would stop and dance in their seats when a good song came on the radio when they were all touring in their little van. And thus, permission was given.

I absolutely love to see a younger person discover older music. And to hear her say thats going on her play list was the cherry on top. I was born in 68 and the 70s had the best music if the younger gens would just give it a chance ❤

I'm 31 and cannot stand music nowadays. It's garbage. I'm always listening to queen, Eric clapton, pink floyd, led zeppelin and guns and roses. When musicians where talented, and didn't use this sympathiser crap.

Hey, Dad! your daughter is not only beautiful and sassy - she has some taste... she got it from somewhere(?)... also, I bet if you probed a bit, she would realize that she knows more Queen than she realizes... has she heard "We will Rock you/We are the champions"? "Under pressure"? "Another one Bites the Dust"?.. perhaps... lol (P.S. Sir Doctor Brian May is total genius.. to this day)

Freddie was working on three songs when he had the genius inspiration to combine them into this epic masterpiece. Nothing like it before or since. After his death, his mother, Jerr, said she enjoyed this song but it made her too sad to there the "Mamaaa" parts.

Sorry, but Freddie was following a long musical tradition of combining musical styles into a rhapsody. Hence the name of the song, the Bohemian part comes from a different source.

@@davidkeenan5642 When Freddie Mercury was a student at Ealing Art College in the late ‘60s, he wrote down some ideas for a song on scraps of paper; his friend, Chris Smith, has stated that Mercury played parts of songs he was writing. One of those pieces was known as “The Cowboy Song,” and it had lyrics that found their way into “Bohemian Rhapsody,” specifically the line “Mama…just killed a man.” In the 1970s, he shared the bits and pieces with his bandmates, drumming on the piano keys and explaining what he would insert into the gaps. He told his bandmates that he thought he had enough for three songs but was considering combining it all to create a single long song. And that is what he did, creating a six-minute suite which is divided into several sections, including a ballad segment, a hard rock portion, an operatic passage, and the final, dark coda.
