I was at this concert. This is the only time they have ever played this live and one of the last shows Mikio played. 55,000 people packed into Tokyo Dome in the middle of a tsunami chanting the piano intro to The One with their neckbraces glowing. What a fucking moment.

The Guitarist on your right (stage left-if there is such a thing on a round stage) was Mikio Fujioka. He has not only "Taken a few guitar lessons" he had been an instructor at the Musicians Institute of Tokyo from 2005 until his death in 2018. The other Guitarist, Takayoshi Ohmura, had indeed "Taken a few guitar lessons" from his teacher Mikio! Both virtuosos on the Guitar! R.I.P. Mikio "Kogami" Fujioka Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

Mike Portnoy actually praised this song, saying "I am BLOWN away by what you've played me of BABYMETAL! 'Tales of the Destinies' is full-on PROG METAL". The funny thing is that Hideki Aoyama (the drummer of Kami Band) is the most favourite drummer of Mike Portnoy's son (he is a big BABYMETAL fan himself) 😀

Nice & welcome back & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。In a recent interview, Su-Metal said that she has not been satisfied at all with her performance at Tokyo Dome and would like to retry it someday. Many people looked forward to the "someday" during the 10 BABYMETAL Budokan concerts which completed April 15, but it did not happen. Someday may come or may not. Only the Fox God knows. A kind of experimental song is sometimes played to show off intricacy of composer's idea and skills of musicians. This song is not like that. This challenging song extracted charms which their fans had not known that time. TOTD was played live after "Gimme Chocolate" and "Karate" and before "The One (English version)". So, the sequence was two popular songs → experimental one → the grand finale to unify the audiences in the world. I have an impression that this was their declaration implying that the girls and the band would break the boundary and asked fans to follow them beyond it.
@karu-metal19433 жыл бұрын
Great reaction this song was only been performed once that was 2016 at Tokyo dome the lead singer of dream theatre said it was a great song. The girls had difficulty with the song finding the rhythm also Su’s ear piece went but they pushed on and put on an epic performance. You can watch the video without the logo as it’s in the video without is in the description
@papa_xan3 жыл бұрын
All the videos on that channel are ones that would be blocked without the logo on them. They are meant to give reactors the option to see/react to live performances that normally wouldn't be possible on KZbin. There are always links in the description to be able to watch the original version without the logo and then can be replaced the logo video in the YT reaction video to avoid a block. This was only performed this one time, so there aren't any other videos of this, except perhaps a compilation of fancams that are pretty low quality.
@zackamania632 ай бұрын
If someone reacts to a video, I think the original video should get a view counted for it as well. I don’t know why KZbin doesn’t do that yet.

From the Babymetal Reactor Resource kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2WTh6CKfbibasU Going forward, if reactors want to keep reacting to the videos, I've come up with a solution that will make it possible to continue using the videos with logos that have already been tested against blocks. I've made a spreadsheet - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZYdthVAHYaOAYL6AuhVOHotQinMoPPFEuspqDMIIGD4/edit#gid=0 with links to both the logo videos and the non logo videos and are hosing them on a Russian social media site that won't remove them, and is out of the reach of the copyright trolls. There are a bit over 30 videos on there now, but I'll keep uploading more every day until they're all back up. I'll also be adding new videos that I'll test on an alt KZbin account before adding to the spreadsheet. If you can't access the spreadsheet for whatever reason, here are direct links to both the non logo videos and the videos with logos: No logos - ok.ru/video/c6630874 With logos - ok.ru/video/c7184602 For reactors that want to put your own logo over the videos, here is a link to the logos I use that are already made transparent - drive.google.com/file/d/1JUVfJGp36xR2n1FHl7PzRIxXhA5P4VyW/viewor you can use whatever logo you'd like. You can download the videos, which I recommend since the site can be a bit laggy sometimes, from this free website - sovid.net/ I recommend using the "HD" option when downloading to keep the file size reasonably small. Although there are other videos on my channel there, only use the ones on the spreadsheet because some of the other non logo videos aren't KZbin safe. Kitsunes UP!

Prog Metal from Babymetal Metal Resistance album influence by Dream Theatre. This song shows what Babymetal girls and The Kami Band can do. A very technical song combined with a complex choreographed dance routine which were performed only once at the Tokyo Dome concert. At that concert, Su-Metal earpiece malfunction and had to rely on Kami Band tempo changes of the song to stay in tune with The Kami Band and Yuimetal and Moametal. Su-Metal nails it perfectly. You should react to the live version alone and see it for yourself. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤟

Funny that you said "someone took a few guitar lessons". Fujioka Mikio, the guitarist on the right side of the screen, was actually an instructor at the Musicians Institute of Japan, first in Osaka and then in Tokyo, and Ohmura Takayoshi, the one of the left side, was one of his students and went on to teach in Tokyo himself. Takayoshi is, as far as I know, still at least a part time instructor at MI Japan, when he's not touring or doing stuff for his solo project. Mikio sadly died at the beginning of 2018 from injuries sustained from a fall off of an observation deck.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🌟 🌟 🌟 Dream Theater's 'Images and Words' is one of BABYMETAL producer Koba's favorite albums. Here's what he said about the development of 'Tales of the Destinies': "Upon opening the World map of Metal music, this song as well really made me stop and consider how are we going to deal with the genre of Progressive Metal represented by such bands that I love such much like Dream Theater. It took about 2 or 3 years to put it into the form that it is in now. As you can imagine, there were a multitude of hardships to overcome to do so. That goes for the performance side of it as well and we had to put it through countless, repeated changes to its arrangement to finally get it where it is now.". Both the girls and the Kami Band did an amazing job especially considering all the changes in time signatures this song has. The Tokyo Dome Red Night concert is the only time that 'Tales of the Destinies' has been performed live. Love the little ragtime jig that Yui and Moa do in the middle of the song. This version is slightly different from what's on the album, but pulling it off with only two guitarists on stage still impresses me.

This is my favourite BM song and I hope they do more of "prog rock", but I think this might be a one off given the direction they took on the last CD, Metal Galaxy. I bought the Tokyo Dome DVD (Delorean) just for this and the bridge into "The One". The rest of the concert is awesome, but this is the only live performance of "Tales of The Destinies" and it's the height of Kobametal's art/artifice/showing off/seeing what he can get away with etc. It's very obviously a homage to Dream Theater, "The Dance of Eternity", even the two titles echo one another. This could have been a complete disaster but Babymetal bring their unique singing and dancing talents to the song and the Kami Band are fantastic...as they always are. To so obviously reference another awesome piece of music and yet still be different and brilliant on its own takes a lot of skill...and either guts or hubris. I love the way the ending resolves from the prog metal madness into a beautifully lyrical piano solo which unfortunately gets cut off in the video.
