This is one of my favorites. How does a twelve year old pack that emotional punch into a song with a very adult theme and lyrics? But we’ve seen her do it many times, and it’s beautiful. Her interpretation of lyrics fits perfectly with her magical voice, and we feel the melancholy the twentieth or fiftieth time we hear this song. To quibble slightly with your reaction-I don’t think it’s a matter of Angelina “pulling it off” with this minimalist musical setup. On the contrary, I think it’s Angelina at her best. Her voice is the center of it all. It’s so pure and sincere that in songs like this, it’s best without anything but that guitar to fill in the quiet spaces.

Totally agree with you regarding Angelina's lower register. It's so rounded, so rich! The thing is many people are used to "admire" the belting singers which is a shame because that's not truly the measure of a great singer. Angelina's wide vocal range is ;)

For a long time we were all impressed with AJ's monumental vocal prowess. While true and very much still present, what we didn't realize was that she was actually perfecting a new language of emotion which she inhabits so well in this song (and in her latest "Million Miles). Nice job, Soul!

Every time and with every song, she changes the key to her interpretation, her voice is simply the tool she uses, surprisingly, to transmit her emotions to her listeners and, always, the slower she does it, the more it upsets us soul in natural way ❤️ ❤️ In this song, IMO, comparing the two versions (original by Adele and the cover of Angelina), she, at 12 years old, is decidedly more emotional and profound, with tones in a wider range than that of Adele and more, she is reading while singing 😍 😍 Angelina makes difficult things seem easy and she offers them in such a spontaneous way and without any apparent effort that she makes us taste them sweetly, just like a colorful dessert that melts in your mouth releasing sweet musical aromas, she is absolutely fascinating. Thanks for reacting again to Angelina. I agree, she dont need that much music along with her. The music is all inside of her, so whenever and whatever live music she is accompanied by, she is always busy to make sure they are abel to follow HER. We are told she is boss at any rehearsel and consert she attends to. This is also why, as I sence it, she sometime is struggling a bit more, as she use backtracks for her videos. SHE then has to adjust to the music, insted of the other way around. We for sure know that her musical mind always contains the superior way for her, to perform almost any song she choose to take on. One GREAT example of that I think, is her version of "Wicked Game". I can`t wait for you to react to that one, as she is not only performing the song, as she even handle the piano her self, as well. So please please, don`t wait too long to do your reaction. It is for sure a great treat. About your "she's comfortable in lower tones" - what do you think she achieves? Do you think she has more tools at her disposal - er - control? Like the soft rasp growl (almost like someone rolling their R's) during opening or closing tones on some lines of lyrics? Do you think she ponders "how many tools/tones do I have at THIS octave rather than another?" One thing - if she starts low and then explodes up - it is a powerful effect. The reverse effect, however, can also draw an audience into an even more intimate listening mode. Well... it's always fun to wonder what she considered. Wouldn't you love to hear more of these early trials?

The guitarist is Ivan Mendez who is Angelina's accompanist in the U.S., while Egil Claussen is Angelina's guitarist in Norway since she was about 6.
