there’s a indie band poor man’s poison, and their song “hell’s coming with me” would be you’re absolute favorite!

Great video Burt! Colter’s picking is just amazing, as you say he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.

Just from my own experience you are not limited to just one midlife crisis. If you survive the first few it can become a habit. I am pretty sure I had 3 or 4 mid life crises. I have moved on to more pronounced and better developed post mid life crises. Some day I hope to have an “older than I ever expected to live” crisis where I will take up unicycle riding on a tightrope while juggling. I just have to time it right so I can do it before my kids pick my nursing home.

Comon over to TX and we will get you on a bike. CW is a legit player/singer/songwriter and once again an artist doing things his way in the Outlaw Country tradition.

Check out “Nashville” by Lee Jameson. Super underground artist but if you like tunes that bash on commercial music then you’ll dig that one. No video footage but you can find the audio on KZbin

Burt, I’ll be down by music row tomorrow. Reckon I’m gonna pour one out down there RIP. If you haven’t yet, Please check out some Wilder Blue, songs like Janie Lynn or palomino gold. You’ll love them and the harmonies. Fantastic.

Billy Brag and Wilco recorded an album of Woodie Guthrie songs, or rather finished it by writing lyrics to the melodies that Woodie had already written, Anyway, this album Mermaid Avenue has a song on it whose melody sounds an awful lot like the melody of this song, intentional or not I don't know

Love Colter! You pick your own age for that business, my brother. I'd recommend: chickens, garden, fruit & nut trees... Fish'n pole? Because I love you too! Full disclosure? I've already spent some time "wrapped around the telephone pole"... Getting another S100RR soon anyway. Tell myself it's better than another woman... Or drugs. 😂

I adore Colter, but it is clear that his shit hot finger picking is almost completely eclipsed by the power of his voice and writing. Townes Van Zandt was another great cursed by being too gifted of a writer and singer, that the quality of his guitar playing is not talked about enough.

You know, Burt - of course you could get you a motorcycle and “straighten the curves” like the Dukes or take it off a mountain (without injury) and that’s a fine mid-life purchase. But I think for you, it should be some Martin guitar from the 30’s who’s price will make your wife want to kill you. You can just tell her about guitars holding their value and what if you’d got that ‘59 Les Paul that was at your local music store when you were a kid (truth optional)?
