The Texas/Red Dirt scene has been alive and thriving for over 20 years now. When Nashville started sucking, Texans decided to do it right. Nothing against Colter, Im a huge fan. But, he didn’t start the movement, and there are hundreds of people still making good music.

Cody Jinks, Jason Boland (Look up Boland’s “Hard time are relative when it come to family”) Stoney Larue, Cody Canada, Guy Clark, Zane Williams and hundreds of others I can’t think of off the top of my head. Even Aaron Lewis the former lead singer from Stained is doing some good stuff. Uncle Lucious has a bunch of good ones too. There is lots of good country out there, you just don’t find it in Nashville anymore.

You’re so right. May I add, Kate McCannon from the Brewery Sessions (same as this one). Colter, himself, said his voice is strained in these, still very good. Every since his first ‘mainstream’ album till now, you can hear his lyrics and, especially his voice, mature. Still deep for someone this age (just turned 25), but still as mesmerizing. Thanks😊

I saw Colter Wall and Tyler Childers play a show together at a tiny bar in WV. Maybe 100 people there. Ticket price:$5 cover at the door! The crazy thing is that was in April of 2016. That’s how quickly the two of them have blown up. In less than 5 years they’ve gone from small bars, playing for cover charges, to selling out places like Red Rocks.

You must not be a fan of the blues. This song is in reference to the legend of Robert Johnson, famous guitarist/singer in the early 20th century.
