In todays video I do a side by side comparison with the 2 Sonia g buffing brushes. If you are trying to decide whether to get one this should help you figure out which one best fits your needs.
Brushes mentioned:
Sonia G Smooth Buffer (blue)
Sonia G Buffer pro (red)
Both purchased from beautylish.com

I have both (of course 🤣) but I think you’re absolutely right about not needing both. I agree with you on the Buffer Pro being the choice if you are trying to decide between the two. The larger size is just more convenient. Thanks for this great video!

Congratulations on meeting your goal!!! I am so happy I recently discovered your channel! I originally purchased the Smooth buffer when I was going through a (short lived 🤣) powder foundation phase and I hadn’t picked it up again until watching your videos and you mentioned using it for finishing. I LOVE it and it makes a world of difference!! I completely agree that having both isn’t really needed. 💜

Thank you tracie 🥰. I hardly use my smooth buffer but I’m trying to get into finishing powders. Sometimes it just takes a bit of inspiration.

Congrats on reaching your goal and thanks for getting this video up so fast! I got a buffer pro but I haven't washed it yet to try it ( I have to wash all my brushes, haven't worn makeup the past 2 weeks since I've been sick at home) . I can't wait to try it but I think I made the right decision over the smooth buffer after your feedback in addition to the prior video! Although I have the entire sky set and I'm itching to finish the blue handle collection... I'll wait as it stays in stock for some time. I have the Sonia g crane brush holder and it's basically full, I can fit one more in there.

Thank you for this review. I think it would be more helpful, however, to see how the buffer pro performs after it’s been washed and fluffed out. I have the smooth buffer but still debating on whether or not to pick up the buffer pro. I ordered the Koyudo fu-pa 14 from cdjapan after I saw one of your videos in which you mentioned you prefer it for buffing over the smooth buffer. Do you still prefer it over the buffer pro?
@brushjunkie6384
@brushjunkie6384 2 жыл бұрын
Now that I've had some time with the Buffer pro it's really hard to say which one I prefer. The Koyudo still feels more luxurious and does a fantastic job smoothing everything out but I like how the Sonia G buffer brushes allow me to get under the eyes really well. I'd say theyre both high performing buffing brushes and If I had to compare the Koyudo to a Sonia G- it's more like the master face but bigger.

Hi! Love all your brush videos! Congrats on meeting your goal! I snatched the smooth buffer vs the buffer pro based on your recommendations =) I used mine to put setting powder on after my spf since this is meant for "powder", but found that the brush gets "matted" since the spf is a wet product and inevitably the brush will touch some of the spf, thus touching a "cream" product. Does that damage the brush? Or should I make sure my face is as dry as possible before using this brush to avoid that? Thanks so much for your feedback😊
@brushjunkie6384
@brushjunkie6384 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching 😊 It’s probably not a good idea to let the brush get matted because the dyed goat hairs are fragile and the brush is probably removing that spf. The buffer brushes are best used after setting powder or on a drier face. For your situation I think A fluffier brush would work much better then you can go in with the smooth buffer to create a smooth surface. I’ve seen Michele wang “stamp” powder in with these brushes but I don’t recommend using it like that because its designed for a buffing motion- but to each their own. It’s worth trying if that is more convenient for you. You’re very lucky to only need setting powder after spf.

So I think the buffer pro is the better choice but I have not used these brushes for some time. I found that I prefer fluffier brushes for finishing. They get better with use and washing but not enough for my preference.

How do you think the brushes will apply mineral powder foundation on deep skin?
@brushjunkie6384
@brushjunkie6384 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not that familiar with mineral foundation. I used it ages ago. Here’s my thoughts… if it’s loose powder the brush will pick up a lot. That may serve you well because you can get a lot applied quickly but it may become messy. A pressed formula would be ideal but I’m bias towards pressed powders. It also tends to leave a slight sheen which is beautiful and so smoothing. I predict these brushes will be amazing with mineral powders in general.
@indiag221

I finally received my brush. I’ve buffer pro is great. I was using the Sephora 55, and there is a visible difference in the finished look. The buffer pro delivers a more blurred application with a sheen! The other delivers more initial color payoff, but the application is not nearly as smooths nor is the finish as flawless. The buffer pro leaves a healthy skin like finish. I’m considering purchasing another brush, but I kind of want the Biyosodo -FD-01. I’m torn.
