Have you ever tried Fircomp2? It's the cleanest compressor I ever tested, I compared to a few comps I have here (Pro-C 2, Smart:comp 2 btw, etc) and it had the lowest noise floor and distortion BY MILES. Also, it costs like 12$ dol or something.
@Weaverbeats2 жыл бұрын
Gotta check that one out. Haven't heard of it tbh.
@remixedcat2 жыл бұрын
How is fircomp2 compared to this?? I got a Linux beta
@croay2 жыл бұрын
@@remixedcat That's cool, then you can test it yourself. The main difference I found relates to latency, harmonic distortion and noise floor. It's basically the cleanest digital compressor in the block and basically works at 0 latency (unless you enable lookahead). It's the ultimate digital compressor imo. Could have more features, like Pro-C 2 or Smart:comp 2 have, but it is superior soundwise. Of course it isn't a gigantic difference tho, the aforementioned compressors are obviously awesome choices nevertheless.

you're expecting a bit too much from the autogain feature. for simple distortion algorithms it's easy to autogain the thing pretty much perfectly, but anything where stuff evolves over time, like a compressor with its envelope follower, can't just autogain based on the input parameters to yield the best gain. but if you start measuring the input signal's rms or lufs you get subtle volume fluctuations on the entire output and they are not even coming in time with the parts where they are needed. that's why no one is making autogain features that are as accurate as various loudness meters you can use to check your levels for spotify and stuff
@croay2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, but then you have stuff like Presswerk (from U-he) which is capable to gain match perfectly and instantly. I have no idea how, it just works.
@Weaverbeats2 жыл бұрын
Good point, it isn't a big enough deal to make the plugin bad though. Just think it could maybe be improved a bit.

Hot take, its your moral obligation to use cracked versions of plugins that use ilok. Ilok does NOTHING expect make it harder for legit users, every single plugin that uses ilok protection has been cracked, so what is it doing besides being a pain in my ass? Nothing, that's what, I have quite a few plugins that have the license stuck on another computer and it's a huge pain to transfer them, so I just crack those plugins.
