It's very jarring to see Sonic's sprite constantly shift from the 3K sprite back to the originals. I don't know why they thought that was a good idea. EDIT: Come to think of it, there's quite a few questionable design choices in this hack, like why Sonic enters a hitstun animation whenever he runs into a wall. Or why the game crashes at the credits. :y

I agree with you it's weird that that his sprites are mix together with with the sonic 1 and 3 sprites they don't look good together

The reason he hits the wall is is think they're trying to simulate the hit dection like the sonic 2 beta and the 3d sonic games like sa2

The sprites are inconsistent. Sonic 1: Walking, running, jumping from a spring, being hit, looking up, crouching, teeter-tottering, screeching to a halt, waiting for a while, etc. Sonic 3: Standing still, rolling, pushing a block, life icon, post sign Many SFX from Sonic 3 are also used.

Technically the running and skidding sprites are from sonic 2 beta just recoloured to sonic 1 pallet

Sonic Dream the one where sonic is looking up is a mixed sprite sonic's top half has the sonic 1 sprite while the bottom half is his sonic 3 sprite

Despite sonics sprites being inconsistent and old ruins act 3 looking a bit unfinished, this looks like a very good hard hack without it being kaizo! I might try this one out sometime!

I like this hack it good to okay level designs but the only problem is the sprites mix ups between the sonic 1 sprite and sonic 3 sprite they look ugly together they person should update this and choose the sprite he wants not this mix up
