@@x-mighty7602 I know its been a year and all, but even if soned2 is harder to use it is WAY better to use a disassembly for sonic ROM hacking, with disassembles you can do much more and its just better overall. If you directly edit a ROM youll only be able to change only a few things.

I'd like to see a Sonic 2 Burned Edition rom hack. It would be great to see Emerald Hill, Aquatic Ruin, Casino Night, Hilltop Zone, Mystic Caves and other natural themed zones ablaze. Chemical Plant, Oil Ocean and Metropolis Zone on fire don't make sense since oil and a lot of chemicals are flammable. They already did an Oil Ocean Act 2 on fire in Sonic Mania after beating the boss with the wrench (don't know that name of boss). After dealing the death blow, he torches the level the same way the Fire breath did to Angel Island in act 1.

It's controls look ok (the speed makes the platforming seem like hell). But the level design looks so...weak. It's massive Loops then platforming over bottomless pits. It looks like a hard Mario level at times. And the stage layout and fetish for bottomless pits put me off. But I can see effort here.
