I think that for this ending they should've had the start play as the bad ending cutscene to make the player think that they failed, but at 1:27 when Tails and Sonic go off-screen, Sonic turns into Super Sonic and the game ends, it would be a nice twist.

They have 2 endings: Good ending: you got all chaos emeralds and defeat eggman. Normal ending: You defeat eggman, but you didn't have all the emeralds.

Probably because they either couldn't get all of the Chaos Emeralds legitimately or because in this ending Tales doesn't actually end up "saving" Sonic since he's unlocked his Super form and is able to fly in the air.

Tails doesnt save sonic from falling in this ending, because sonic can fly when supersonic. So it's kinda lame

Tails saves Sonic's life in the normal ending, while in this ending he flies up and checks if he's okay, with the thought that matters. The former is a lot more impactful, and meaningful.
