The game stores one colour pallette for the main character at a time. (Theres limited memory after all!) The main colour schemes are either Sonic or Knuckles. Several objects in the game use the active player colour pallette (the birds for example). In this case - the game loads that sprite already assuming it has Knuckles' colour pallette in the memory. Which it hasn't. Sonic 2 and Knuckles does the same thing - several objects in the game are miscoloured thanks to Knuckles being there.

@GoPichuGo1 You can keep hitting him in his face, knocking him back. This makes it feel more like a boss fight and less of a waiting game. Either method, he ends up in the pit, but what I do in the video is the quickest and easiest method of defeating him.

Because I didn't touch the ground, which is what triggers the boss. A nice side effect of the bubble shield.

I gotta say, since I was 6 i played this game every day. I studied everything from bosses to perfect high scores. I never thought id see a person play as good as me. But This player is obviously a match for me if not better. So to the player, You kick ass. Dont quit playing sonic ever man! And nice goob keeping the water sheild all the way to the flying battery zone boss. Not a lotta ppeople make it.

I usually have two save files for each character, one with Hyper/Super forms unlocked, the other without, depending on how I want to play the game.

in mushroom hill... you can get get the fire sheild outside of the special thing... Stage 1 = After down root towards the end (left side is a mushroom throwing guy, right is a ramp and the loops to the boss) if you spin and go up the ramp, there will be spikes and on the right side is a fire sheild on stage 2 at the end where you have to go up the pully thing, go on the left side, and take it up all the way, then hit the bouncer and youll go to a place with 8 rings, and a fire and light sheild

Also, it's wierd, but they put in music from toher games in this one. For example, Mecha Sonic Mrk 4's msuic is the alternate boss battle at Launch Base (Why the sky gets dark), and the emerald-charged robot is the Doomsday level.

In the lava reef zone, how does Robotnik raise the lava like that? And how resilient must that machine be to with stand lava? And what about when you beat the boss and it blows up? Robotnik is pretty screwed then!

OH, you don't need a special stage to get a fire shield in mushroom hill 2. At the very end, on a large pulley, there is a secret area. If you stop the pulley at the very bottom of the ground and you jump up, pick the spring and it will lead you to an upper part of the level where you can find rings, a fire and a thunder shield.

Use Level Select(In mushroom Hill, Fine The First Pully Thing that You Pres Down on, And Dont, Instead Press, Left,Left,Left,Right,Right,Right,Up,Up,Up. You Should Hear a Jingle Like When Colecting a Ring If You DId It Correctly, Press Start, Then B. because he used level select and played the knuckles final boss the game reads it as knuckles but uses the sonic sprite, but when the plane comes the game re reads still reading as knuckles but gliches and reads that the knuckles sprite is blue because he played as sonic. thats just my theory

Knuckles is so big a push over, one time when I was playing, he used his glide attack. I went over to where he was about to land and stood there. When Knuckles came down onto me, HE got hurt. He then tryed the same move again. Same result.

Speaking of Flying Battery, have you noticed when you're playing as Knuckles, this is the only boss that doesn't become Robot Robotnik? The only time Knuckles fights the real Robotnik.

You know that eggman is raising the steaks when he starts nuking sonic when the floor is literary lava in lava reef act 2

Isaac Streams I guess it wasn't a Nuke or Sonic would be dead instantly... It's the Egg producing a wave of heat that executes and awakens the dormant lava reef so when Robotnik was defeated the lava had an instant cool down phase to solid rock that didn't harm Sonic through to the Hidden Palace Zone. Which by the way I think Robotnik INTENDED to cause the flow and be defeated to gain the Master Emerald from following Sonic and gaining access to the palace too!
