This community means the world to this Hedgehog. No matter the games quality, or the meme material, we can all agree that this community is one of the best of the media. That being said, I hope the next game matches that love. It may not appeal to everyone, but the new generation of Sonic fans deserves a title to where it was for the fans of the 2000’s. They deserve it, so I hope Sega does it justice like Nintendo does for their respected IPs. They may not be that much open to the fans as Sonic, but they do have genuine respect to those who truly love. I think both companies can learn something from one another and they have. Regardless of any kind of fan, both Mario and Sonic means a lot to a lot of people. So happy birthday to both, and here’s to the next generations to come.

Through the killer 90s, the increasingly dark 2000s, the mixed 2010s, the proverbial rebirth in the 2020s - there was never a moment when I regretted being a Sonic fan, not one moment when I regretted Sonic shaping my childhood or turning me into the game design freak I am. This whole thing was just... really a symbol for the undying love I, and people like me, hold for this blue spiky fecker - and always will.

So, not only is this year the Sonic franchise's 30th anniversary, but it's also Sonic Adventure 2's 20th anniversary. That is my favorite Sonic game of all time and I'm so proud to have grown up with this franchise. There will be ups and downs, but Sonic is something I'll always be proud to be a fan of.
