Yes indeed! In Sonic Advance, the Chaos Emeralds are shared between all 4 characters. So if you got the 2nd emerald with Tails, Sonic will also have the 2nd emerald as well. So you can collect the emeralds with different characters and it'll still count. =) Once you get all 7, replay the final zone as Sonic and defeat the "final boss" and instead of the game ending, you'll get the FINAL final boss and the true ending of the game. Good luck! The exception to this rule is Sonic Advance 2. THAT'S the issue, everyone has to collect their own emeralds, if you collect the 1st emerald as Sonic, _no one else will get it_, from what I know, just trying to get to the special stages are a pain in the game. But the fact you have to do that with everyone to obtain all the unlockables -and funny enough, the Tiny Chao Garden that was already there from the get-go in Sonic Advance, you have to unlock in Sonic Advance 2- is a pain in the neck as it is. {Thankfully, to get to the extra zone, you just need to get all the emeralds with Sonic}

You can get the first one as sonic. Under the speed booster you'll find a spring if you spind dash and jump at the right time you can get up to the spring to do it.

I know this video is old but you can get back up and get to the Special Spring in Ice Mountain Zone cause I I fell as Sonic but use the springs to get back up and than jumped on the Special Spring.

I can’t believe someone had to even make this video in the first place. When I got this game I played it to death, it was so fun just explore the stages. That’s how I found them all on my own. It was truly satisfying for me as it made Sonic Advance the first Sonic game I ever 100% completed on my own. But still to this day I have trouble going through the (bonus portals) for the last emerald. I’m only here now to see if someone could do that www Anyway, I still can’t believe someone felt they had to make this video, for Advance 2 I would completely understand, but not for this game. Of course the amount of time it must have taken to acquire the tools to record footage and recording time probably wasn’t too easy, so thanks for your hard work! I wish this game got more love!

LPFan You speak for me there. Special Stage 7 was a head banger, there's little room for error. Missing just a few rings or collecting enough but getting hit more than twice. That run is essentially a failure. I had to challenge myself to not save state and run back to the spring after a retry of the stage. Made me work for it! X.X

That 5th location is so dumb. I found special stages 1-4 and the 6th one just by sticking to the top path. The 5th one is just hidden below a ledge that you can easily miss.

That's something! Kudos for you to reach up there as Sonic! It was not only careful platforming prowess, but it legit was you get hit or fall, and you can forget it! Angel Island's spring was the 3rd one I found in my childhood. Secret Base and Casino Paradise were my first two! ^^;

You do a regular jump and you have to press left or right twice very quickly to do it. If done right, you can get a rather nice speed boost from it, hope this helps!
