Sonic Advance is weirder than I remembered...

In the early 2000s, nothing could be more mindboggling than a Sonic game releasing exclusively on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. Sonic Advance 1, 2 and 3 are considered by fans to be the true successor to the Classic Sonic games on the Sega Genesis/Megadrive but how well do they hold up?

I liked your video, your dog character is really cute and well animated. As for the Sonic Advances, I agree with your classification, the 1st is a good prototype, the 2nd is the best, the 3rd a catastrophic experience. (I really didn't like the pair system, ok taking Tails and Cream together was fine, but most of the time we ignore the second partner) And I also played these games on emulator as a kid, I was poor ... (I only had 2 games a year, one for my birthday, one for Christmas)

Advance 2 is my fave, and advance 3 is my absolute worst nightmare lol. From stage 1 in advance 3 having that cheap spike bit, to the cheap crush block, it leaves a horrible first impression. Its also got a really weird acceleration as well, it just never feels right, especially when you jump at any slight speed. Sorta reminds me of the avatar speed in forces now that i think of it. Such a frustrating game with terrible enemy placement as well. Advance 1 was great too tho.

I noticed that on this channel you do comics and you do Sonic. Have you ever thought about doing videos on the various Sonic the Hedgehog comic books? I can see you doing a series of videos going over the iterations by the various publishers (The magna by Shogakukan, the Archie Sonic series, Fleetway's Sonic the Comic from Great Britian and the current Sonic the Hedgehog comic by IDW). Just feels like it would be a good fit for the channel.

I actually enjoy the Sonic Advance games more than the Classic games...for the most part. They all share one thing in common though besides being 2D...all the special stages SUCK. That goes for almost every Sonic game to me (exception being Sonic Mania's and Sonic 3's to a point). But Sonic Advance 2 is the worst when it comes to unlocking everything. But in terms of a casual playthrough, I like the Advance trilogy a little more than the Classic trilogy+ lol
