I am way too late to this, but the reason Sonic has his regular shoes is because Soap did not ask to sponsor SA2 yet, meaning Sonic had his shoes in this demo and the probably didn’t stop wearing them until the end of development of SA2

Game Archive recomendo você jogar a versão Gamecube ou PC dele que é o Sonic Adventure 2 Battle com vários modos extras. Mas o modo História como ficou intacto, ficaria de boa você jogando no Dreamcast mesmo.

Kinda weird that the English version removed the Japanese voices in cuts scenes even though they are present in the full Japanese version

If you go to options you can change the voices to Japanese and keep the English text, most Sonic games let you. The only exceptions I can think of off the top of my head are Sonic Shuffle, Heroes, Shadow, 06 [you can in the PS3 version but on 360 you have to change your console language setting to Japanese to get JP audio in 06], and Unleashed on Wii & PS2
