I listened to this restoration, in this pitch, now everything is so clear. Because I thought the Past version of QQz had nothing in common with the Present and Future's, but now I know.

I dont know why but when remembering the first time playing this game, and going to Quarts Quadrant Past I always remembered the pitch sounding like this and honestly, I like it better this way. Sometimes changing the pitch of a musical trak can significantly make it sound better (or worse in some cases. Like Bloody Tears in Castlevania Rondo of Blood)

It's been revealed that R2 was going to be named Ridicule Root by an official Sonic CD developer, because it was going to be a sky castle ruin level with a big forest growing out of it (think Sky Sanctuary combined with a forest level, or Sonic Advance's Angel Island, which is a floating ruin with plants in it). Relic Ruin/Radiant Ruin is a made up fan name. There's also Dubious Depths, but that name sounds more like it was planned for Tidal Tempest to me, as that was going to have an upper route with volcanos (like Volcano Valley) & a lower route (what we have now). There's only a few things from it leftover: - Concept art which shows a few ruined bridges with rainbow waterfalls coming off of them - The hidden statues in Wacky Workbench potentially (although the official developer could be trolling, they said they're not from there, so Tidal Tempest leftovers?) - A sprite of an unused boss, unused enemies & an unused Antlion enemy. The Antlion is reused as a boss in Sonic 2 SMS/GG - The cutscene with the Antlion Badnik in the credits, which is part of that level - Little Planet (JP) music. The official developer revealed that it is indeed the Ridicule Root Present music re-purposed for the sound test - Techno Power Mix (a remix) contains what is believed to be a remix of Ridicule Root's lost Bad Future music - Sonic Stream (a remix) contains what is believed to be a remix of Ridicule Root's lost Good Future music Those lost tracks, if they DO exist may be as lost as the Sonic 1 Tokyo Toy Show prototype. But then again, they may show up, after all, the Nick Arcade Sonic 1 prototype with the functional unused ball & Marble Zone planets was found.

Doesn't raising the pitch by 60 cents practically convert E and A to F and A#? This is dope btw.
@CollisionChaos2 жыл бұрын
Somewhat yeah. Although 1 semitone = 100 cents.
@Tera152 жыл бұрын
I played with FL Studio for several years, so I'd know that 50 cents is the furthest it can go without changing the key, because that's where the key change is optional. For anyone else who wants to say something, it doesn't have anything to do with 432 Hz, because that only lowers 32 cents from our everyday 440 Hz.

Thank you for your comment! The CDDA songs usually have a lot of variations in the instruments duration and volume, while the pasts are usually more "static" so I tried to add it on this restoration.
