Neonlight The Doomhog 1. Infinite was an illusion with effects on the physical plane created by the Phantom Ruby. When the original Infinite is defeated, he is sent back to the base and then thousands of him are brought out to fight against the resistance, but all disappear after the final boss is beaten. 2. No idea what happened to Eggman. We beat him and that's it. We don't see where he went. Granted after you beat the game Eggman has control over 0.1% of the world, so he might appear in a secret ending. 3. We can assume the Phantom Ruby was destroyed in the final boss. Since the Ruby was being used to power the final boss, we can assume that the final blow against the boss destroyed the Ruby, thus destroying all the illusions.

That's just level design, heck in sonic adventures 2 when robotnik blew up the moon (i think half)that felt more menancing. I might be wrong, and you may be right, but to me this might just be a pg13 eggman and that's ok, but don't make the game too easy, with minions who don't attack, levels that last 1 minute, having sonic speed run levels automatically. It takes all the fun away, and little kids might like that, but I grew up with sonic 1 on Sega, my first game, and also sonic 2, 3, and knuckles being the more challenging one. Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed with this game's bosses if that's all of them. Three of them are the same person, Infinite. There's only 7. Some of them feel pretty similar in some ways. There was no Chaos or Shadow bosses. And the third, running phase of this final boss reminds me a bit too much of the final boss from Sonic Colors. But hey, the gameplay overall looks pretty good and smooth. And that's including the custom character's gameplay. The soundtrack was almost never in any doubt for quality, cause it's Sonic. And the animation looks nice in cutscenes. I'll more then likely still get this cause of the lower price tag then usual AAA games.

So I wouldn't call this a bad game. It had great music like always, and the concept of a world ruled by Eggman was one that I was personally excited to see. And the gameplay for Modern Sonic was for the most part really good. But Classic Sonic served absolutely no purpose in this game, the boss fights were really weak, and 50% of the dialogue is really corny. Not Sonic Heroes levels of corny but there were a lot of lines that felt like they were trying way too hard! Yeah the voice acting got a significant improvement, but the material they were given with didn't have much good stuff. So I think that Sonic Forces ended up turning out to be a pretty ok game.

This really plays out like a less-disastrous version of Sonic '06, except instead of wiping out the events of the game, they just leave it without any real resolution. Really though, this whole game feels like a slightly more polished version of Sonic '06. Emphasis on "slightly". Instead of being a legendary disaster, it's just...disappointing. They had all of these good ideas, but they weren't willing to commit to them. For Christ's sake, they had all this time to polish everything and put effort into it (they didn't even have to rush to meet the anniversary deadline this time), but yet again, they fail to deliver. When _fans who have worked on various other fan projects_ are capable of churning out a better product than *the main team responsible for most of the mainline Sonic games* you know there's something seriously wrong with management. I just...can't summon the words to describe how frustrating this all is. I know this franchise can be better; it _has_ the potential to reach the same level of polish and quality as some of its earlier titles. If Sonic Team would just wake up and *_try_* to improve their product, the franchise wouldn't be quite _as_ infamously base-splitting as it is now.

Sounds like some bona-fide bad fanfiction gone official. You hear that, SEGA? *_You took bad ideas from shitty fanfiction AND MADE IT OFFICIAL._* It's really a damn shame that Sega of Japan has so much control over the franchise, yet they don't seem to have any idea on where they want to go with it (and half the time, I almost forget that it's even made by Japan because it feels so Western-made). They should've been going all out with this game, but instead of feeling like a huge celebration of Sonic's entire history, it feels just like any other Sonic game that has come out in the last few years. And yet it's getting high marks from people who are just glossing over its obvious flaws. If I had control over the direction of the game, here's how I would've done it: - Actually have the Phantom Ruby warp reality instead of making illusions. It was implied the whole way through to the release (or rather, leak) of the game that the Phantom Ruby was capable of completely warping reality...not this illusion shit that gives the game no meaning or impact. Additionally, more use should've been gotten out of it, considering how much of an impact it was supposed to have on the story. Certainly, you'd think it'd get the most use in the final boss fight. - Give the supporting cast more of a role in the story. It's been damn near forever since any of the characters outside of Sonic and Tails have had _anything_ to do in a mainline Sonic game (and even Tails gets the short end of the stick here for some reason) and they honestly need some spotlight. Without them doing anything, it makes it look like Sonic and Tails are doing all the work in saving the world and makes the games feel a lot less lively and its world less lived-in. And while I can understand that people don't want a return to the gameplay roulette days of Sonic Adventure...honestly, I wouldn't really mind the different gameplay styles returning in a more refined form; it'd at least give players more to do than the same old worn-out Unleashed-style gameplay we've had since 2009 and give more of a boost in presence to the supporting cast. - Make Zavok, Shadow, Chaos and Metal Sonic the real characters and not just illusory copies. It's a huge cop-out that characters previously turned good haven't had their pasts warped by the Phantom Ruby. Zavok was already evil to begin with and Metal Sonic was already made with the express purpose of matching Sonic in his abilities and beating him, so they would join back up with Eggman in a heartbeat. The Phantom Ruby corrupting Shadow and Chaos would've been an interesting turn of events; imagine if Chaos were never soothed, torn apart by the revelation that all Chao have been wiped out. Imagine if Maria never existed or was killed before Shadow could be launched to Earth, allowing Gerald to shape him into the ultimate killing machine as he intended. Think of all of the interactions that could happen between the characters who know those two and seeing them corrupted into such a state. - Let the Phantom Ruby's influence not only show very real damage to Sonic's universe, but also cover damn near the entirety of Sonic's history as a true celebration of the history of the franchise. This should go without saying. Now, obviously, they won't be able to cover absolutely *everything* the franchise has to offer (console limitations and all that), but wouldn't it be nice to see some of the more obscure parts of the franchise come back into the forefront? Sonic Mania did that, so why not do the same thing for Sonic Forces? - Bring back some elements of Sonic Mania for Sonic Forces. We don't really know what happened to the Hard-Boiled Heavies after the final battle in Mania, but it would've been pretty cool to see them return and assist Eggman again. Hell, what about bringing back Classic Eggman? Yes, it'd be a rehash of Generations, but still, it would be interesting to see what role he'd try and play in contrast to the modern Eggman. I made that far wordier than I should've, but that's just a few ways that I would've made improvements on Sonic Forces. Again, it's kinda sad that the fans of the franchise are actually doing a better job at handling it than the actual professionals who have been working on the franchise for years.

All of the bosses are either on a 2D plane or running in a straight line. Even 06 had some sort of variety to how you fight. I always tried to keep it neutral when it comes to the subject of newer Sonic games being trash or not, but the fact that this game supposedly took 3-4 years to make, only to garner a half-assed Generations, is inexcusable. Maybe next time don’t hire a bunch of people who have little experience in level design, to work on your flagship title to a franchise with an already dirty face. Has anyone noticed the similarities? The Death Egg Robot looks a bit like Dark Gaia? Edit: Six Arms,even if the extra 4 on the M.D.E.R. are just there and don’t function,they’re still there. Just like “Perfect Dark Gaia” having Six Arms. Tail Like Body,even though you can see in Phase 2 that the tail actually has an end to it and Dark Gaia’s snake like body doesn’t,it’s still there. “Face” Fired Lasers. Those fights were 6 years ago. This is a game in 2017 showing off all the villains in a way that there is going to be a war between heroes and villains. So with sega meeting part of that "quota" 6 years ago in Generations and revisiting them in what's assumed to be a more refined modern game with no interaction is kinda halfassed while we keep knocking about classic Eggman bosses over and over again. There has to be future dlc to redeem this game involving these characters. As for Super Sonic he appears to be a day one add-on to the game which sounds like he wasn't intended from the start. If so it marketed like a subtle addition rather than a contribution to the game overall (cutscenes, fights, etc).

Guys, dont be dissapointed for thinking Infinite not being the final boss, He technically IS, BOTH R FINAL BOSSES with Infinite being the robot power source and Eggman as the robomech pilot, So,It worked like this: Infinite + Eggman = Death Egg Robot Remember in classic nsmb DS , Bowser become his Dry Version, leaving his troop into his son, and then got ressurected by him and fought alongside together in their final battle, also same when Hyness sacrifices himself and the mages sisters as Void Termina's Fuels in Star Allies Infinite may be pulled into the seemingly real phantom ruby fortress reactor, but hes actually retreated by Eggman for his defeat and sucked into the real phantom ruby death egg robot as its fuel and power source in their final battle altogether as the Death Egg Robot Unity

I mean Eggman is like, dead, right? They literally pierced through the center where the doctor was sitting, and he didn’t exactly say much of anything at the end. Plus, I dunno, this boss feels almost like a temporary, “conclusion” for Eggman to me. Just something about it feels as though we might not see much of him in the next game. With how much Forces discussed the notion of death, I wouldn’t be TOO surprised if they did, “kill” him. Then again, I could be entirely wrong, and there either could be some secret ending that shows Eggman alive and well, and the TRUE final boss is in fact, Infinite. Or, Eggman could just show back up in the next game like nothing happened. I dunno, I kind of like the idea of him not being so prevalent in a future installment, and Sonic Team giving the doctor a temporary leave; let some other big bad have all the spotlight for once, you know?

If that sun had hit them he’d of died too!!! I think he wanted to die. He was driven mad trying to make his grandfathers utopia. His way was incorrect as his damaged mind which was ruined from his childhood, made him delusional and psychotic. He wanted humans to be happy but In order to do that he has to try to destroy Nature to create that utopia. And sonic had to defend all life. That music in the second phase nearly made me cry for robotnik and that’s something I never though I would do....

My complaints about Forces I have the Game Only 7 Modern stages. Disappointing Final Boss. Literally a Nega Wisp reskin. The fucking cumbia Synth is on all Modern Stages. Variety is key. Floaty Classic (but it improved from Generations at least) No Shadow boss fight. Chaos literally vanishes 10 minutes after being introduced. The level order and difficulty curve is really off. NO FIST BUMP ORCHESTRAL WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. No SuperSonic for the boss-fight. Modern Sonic is useless. His only strength is the boost. The weird level design on Special Stages. They even reuse the same section twice on some levels. Very little zone variety. Only 7 zones. Infinite literally disappears. No identity reveal. The Metal Boss fight is low-key reused later on the game. A lot of things in the game point towards cut content. What have they done to Tails, man? Not being able to fix Omega, being scared of Chaos 0, when he fought Chaos 4, being sad that Classic Sonic is disappearing, the "true dat" line. Ugh, this is just frustrating. Infinite died not with a bang, but a whimper. The game not only didn't reveal his face or explain his origin at all he also disappears after the third encounter that was literally a copy-paste of Metal's boss fight The "All-star villains" was nothing more than marketing ploy to make people buy the game. All of them are illusion, "Chaos" got "killed" off in an early cutscene, "Shadow" got kicked by the real Shadow in one cutscene, and "Metal" was just a throwaway boss. Ironically, Zavok was the only one (outside of Infinite) utilized as a proper boss, hell, he even got some lines!
