I do believe that when the game is 100%ed, as in all the progress trackers on the island select screen are golden, there is a special surprise in Extras.

true, but that's only after update 2, and I dont think they added new trophies with the update

Congrats on the plat! I also really enjoyed playing Frontiers when it first came out (my first 3D Sonic game since Adventure 2) but never got the Plat. Might need to revisit it!
