No..it's hard to tell but Classic Sonic has little to no momentum,unlike classic Sonic,Advance,Rush,Rivals,so he feels floaty and hard to control.Dimps did a much better job in the 3DS version,as its spindash wasn't broken and he had actual physics

I like this game more because modern sonic has pretty good level design, and classic does too, and while these games aren't that hard, mania is still way easier than this game, only two zones in mania are hard, flying battery and titanic monarch. And I feel like the unlockables in this game are more rewarding than Sonic Mania unlockables because, come on, what's better the super peel out and insta shield, or the drop dash? Meanwhile in this game, we have Blast off, speed up, elemental shields, power sneakers, endless boost, something that speeds you up when going up hill and in water, ect. Oh, and this game has better bosses. I still love Sonic Mania though.

You can skip the water area in Chemical Plant but you need the skill to unlock in City Escape (Double jump like skill introduced in Sonic 3 & Knuckles)

its called evolving with time. his design would not fit into the modern world. it would restrict him too do things like the homing attack.

I fail to see how, all the homing attack is is Sonic curling up into a ball, which he did in the very first game...in fact that's kind of why he's a hedgehog. Evolution means that something develops and grows. Sonic's certainly "grown", but he hasn't developed he's regressed. He's lost personality, he's lost his cuteness, he's lost a lot of qualities that helped him stand out in a good way. Saying he wouldn't fit in the modern world is like saying Mickey Mouse, Star Wars, or the Turtles wouldn't fit into the modern world. It's called being timeless, something that may "represent" an era, but will continue to be relevant and likable even as society develops. If "modern" means bland, uninspired, focus tested, generic garbage that appeals to people in the lowest form possible then count me out.

I love him more. I'm not calling classic bad, but when I think of sonic, I look at modern(and yes I played the classics first) comparatively, classic is rather bland. I mean he looks OK, but not the sonic I know. his newer design imo brings in more life into the character. his green eyes(Ruined forever for some fucking reason) brings in the pop of his personality. He talking (again ruined forever for some dumb reason) makes him be more interactive to the people and world around him.OK i'll give classic this: his spikes are a bit too long, but nevertheless, HE IS STILL SONIC. classic sonic on the other hand is kinda just an animal and faster version of Mario. tho he does has more personality than Mario, IMO its only slightly. I'm sorry,but I can't see the appeal of classic's design.

Sonic games least importent part. Exploration. What do you get from that some rings a shield. Sonic games are momentum based platformers. The upper paths are the harder but faster. And the lower paths are the easyer but slower paths. A great example is the third stage in Sonic 2. The only time that a Sonic game main part was exlporation is Sonic CD. Like the point with the Sonic games are beating The stages as fast as possible.

Maybe it's me,but the classic stages(the ones from the classic games,not the classic version of the levels) are...i don't know.They feel irrilevant.Sure,Sky Sanctuary is nice to look at but for the rest...nothing.And please don't let me talk about Chemical Plant! How that stage even got in Generations?! At least in the 3DS we've got Casino Night but Mushroom Hill...uh?I don't know...i really can't see a reason why Mushroom Hill is here.If that was something like Flying Battery or Lava Reef i could have liked more the Classic Era,but no!Instead here there is some dancing mushrooms and a short 3D section.

Green Hill: first Sonic stage ever made: Chemichel plant: the stage that showed US how fast Sonic Can be and of Course the infamous water section. Sky sancturay: the moment you teamed up with knuckles. Casino night. Its pinball that why. Mushroom Hill. I Think the reason why is. That This stage has somthing spechiel if you took the and knuckles cartridge with the Sonic 3 cartridge. There you Can find that “Secret giant ring” that why.
