Robotnik’s sacrifice was so great, I wasn’t expecting how his line from the trailer “If I can’t rule the world, I might as well save it!” was used here, giving the line so much more emotional weight. In case this does end up being Jim Carrey’s last movie before he retires, it will have made for a gorgeous send-off for an incredible career that entertained us four and a half decades.

Yeah, with all the "team sonic" mentions throughout the movie, and a bunch of metal sonics being in the post credits, sonic 4 is 100% going to be based on sonic heroes. I mean come on, the whole fake Eggman plot from that game is literally right there, the cloaking/shape-shifting technology is already established to exist, the mystery of how he survived and why he's acting differently could go so many different ways. For something even crazier, they could base it off the first arc of the IDW comics, with Neo metal taking control of the remnants of Eggman's tech, copying the data of Sonic, Amy, knuckles, tails and shadow, then taking the master emerald to go super, later turning into master overlord. Neo metal going super as he shouts "I'LL CRUSH YOU!!!!" would be absolute cinema

I'm 36, and an OG Sonic fan. What I really liked about this movie is how it was written for a more "mature" audience ("mature" as in kids under 10 would have a hard time understanding the film). There were kids approximately 5 or 6 years old behind me asking questions about what was going on in the movie to their parents/older siblings. I was sitting there going, "Damn. These kids REALLY don't understand what's going on... I LIKE THAT!!!"

Bro this movie was PEAK!!! Everything was great about this movie, and they did my goat Shadow and his story so much justice, every moment with him was great. And I really don’t mind the change to his origin, I actually like it. We even got live and learn to play, and holy crap you were right…we do have the technology to make a dragon ball movie. The last 30 minutes of this film was some of the most peak and hype things I’ve seen for a film in a minute. And tbh, this is based on my first viewing experience so maybe it’ll change. But the over the top family friendly comedy moments honestly never took me out of the film, like it did for some people. Tbh, that criticism was something that mainly affected me when watching Sonic 2. It was some of the dialogue choices, over the top comedy moments and dragged out moments like the dreaded wedding scene that took me out a bit, although I still like Sonic 2. But I think they improved the dialogue, comedy and not dragging out certain characters or plot lines too much. And Man, the post and end credit scenes…absolute PEAK!!! We got an idea of what Sonic 4 could be involving Amy Rose and of course our new villain Metal Sonic, the introduction to these characters, the hype and what it could mean really has me excited for Sonic 4. And of course, my goat Shadow survived possibly hinting at a Shadow spin-off project or an appearance in something else. Overall, I’d give Sonic 3 a 8.5 or a 9/10. Really good movie and definitely the best of the Sonic movie trilogy, can’t wait for Sonic 4.

I am excited to see what they do with Amy in the 4th movie. However, there are a few things in my head: 1. I *really* hope they don't just turn her into a ripoff of Peach in the Mario Movie in terms of personality, or rather lack thereof. 2. I hope they still keep her crush on Sonic as part of her character. I'm really disappointed by the lack of it in the recent games. I understand that Sega doesn't want her to be a stalker anymore, but I think they and the filmmakers can have this character trait without making her look creepy or annoying. Why not do it like, say, Serena liking Ash in Pokemon, or Ochaco liking Deku in My Hero Academia? Have her crush on the main character, without being creepy and have it be more cute. And have her still have her own goals and character. Just a few suggestions. Overall, the film was fun. Can't wait to see what's next

I predict Director Rockwell stole a prototype of Metal Sonic & used the studies of Shadow over the years he was trapped to help build the first Metal Sonic. Wanting revenge on Team Sonic for getting her fired from G.U.N. it would be a shame to let her go. She hires Rouge to steal the blueprints during the events of the finale of Sonic 3. Knowing that the "aliens" are dangerous she has Metal Sonic travel around Earth to capture any. Aka the rest of Team Rose that Amy comes to ask Team Sonic to help save.

Robotnik could have ended up on another planet and maybe due to time differential on the planet numbers of years past where he was able to build Metal Sonic to go back in time to kill Sonic.

Also about the multiple Metal Sonic concerns and how weak there were and I was concerned about that too but I rewatched it and I noticed that the first metal Sonic that appeared is a lot more blue than the others while they look more grey so he is probably the main metal sonic. My theory is that Sonic actually went forward into the future in the mid credit scene. In the scene, he mentions going to fast and making it to New York. This idea of going fast enough to travel through time also plays into what happens in Sonic CD. I have a theory about the Metal Sonic plot in the next movie. The version from the games could be one of those many copies that slowly gains more insight, upgrades, and gets more and more obsession into beating Sonic then the rest of them. Gradually standing out among them and maybe even making himself into Neo over time to not only be the strongest Metal Sonic robot, but also stronger then Sonic as well. That's the vibe I got when I saw them since there was ONE of them that stood out a little. Sonic vs Shadow, especially Super Sonic vs Super Shadow, felt like the Sonic version of Goku vs Vegeta all over again. My jaw dropped, then I grinned like a psychopath watching that fight. Jim Carrey was at his best here. He killed both roles, was menacing, and also funny as hell. The opening scene had me pumped and immediately set the mood for the film. Shadow was great, loved how he was portrayed. His redemption was even done well and didn’t seem forced. The team dynamic was great and all three of the trio remained important. The surprise to me was seeing Robotnik make a heroic sacrifice. If that really is the last we see of Jim Carrey either on screen or in the Sonic films, it’s one hell of a way to go. It was also touching to see him actually appreciate Agent Stone in the end, it got me close to tears. They even did address the one flaw I saw in the first two and barely had the original human characters in this one. Looking forward to a fourth run. Three homeruns, I rarely see film trilogies where I love all three films, this was one of them.

Sonic The Hedgehog Movie 3 is by far the Avengers Endgame level movie in this newly beloved cinematic universe. There was a lot character development and arcs that were very well developed and we even got to see different sides to characters like Shadow and Doctor Eggman we thought we’d see in this third instalment which would make you love and appreciate these characters even more. Keanu had the spotlight of the majority of the movie but it was Jim Carrey who truly stole the show by taking two characters from both Ivo Robotnik and Gerald Robotnik. Jeff Fowler really did provide 10 times the amount of fan service comparing to the first two movies, but I did think there were a few missed opportunities for more pop culture references to please the fans. The Robotnik fourth wall break was very clever on Jim Carreys behalf, but I truely thought we really needed another fourth wall break with Sonic and Shadow with Sonic calling out: “hey, you sound like my hero”. Being a nod to Sonic watching a glimpse of Speed in the first movie before Keanu was even cast as the ultimate life form. Another missed opportunity that was missed was when Sonic parodied The Beatles Abbey Road poster art where he Named All Three members apart from Ringo, where I felt should’ve made a tiny reference to Thomas The Tank Engine where Ringo was the narrator of show back in the 80s. Eggman I swear was going to pull off the Pingas meme before Gerald pushed him out the eclipse canon where I thought that set up was completely wasted. As for the post credits, I’m happy Amy will be coming to the fourth movie, but I’m struggling to wonder who could possibly be knowing Eggman made the huge sacrifice in the final climax. Also I’ve got a gut feeling we’ll be getting a Shadow Spin Off series in mid 2026 before we get Sonic Movie 4 in 2027. Other than that, this is by far the best cinematic experience of 2024 for just following behind Deadpool and Wolverine.

The dance sequence is probably one of the best parts of the movie. For me, Jim Carrey is the star of the franchise, hands down, and if he is not back for Sonic 4 then that will be a huge let down. I know it’s tough honestly to get Jim Carrey to come back four times for a franchise, he has never done it for his own previous movies. That’s why I think it would have been best to finish the series as a trilogy and go out on top.
