Love this movie~ I like that Robotnik acknowledges that a lot of his creations have "design failures" as he is likely inspired by various folklore and adds them to whatever he's working on only for it to somewhat backfire for being too accurate such as with the tortoise and the hare robot missiles. Tails and Knuckles can keep up with Sonic/Metal to a degree, the problem would be if Sonic/Metal went faster as time goes on. Sonic usually has a default cruse run before going faster such as when he slowed down to grab Tails from Metal Robotnik.
