@@erikbihari3625 Sonic X was it's own independent thing with zero connection to the games. It told it's story with a beginning, middle and ending that it stuck to. Prime has been declared as part of the game canon (which by it's own admission, can't be), so the events here supposedly happen in the same context, meaning that nothing mattered due to events needing to line up with the games.

I really was rooting for Prime. It has great animation for a 3D show, the new cast they have breath new life into these characters, a cool interpretation of Shadow, and the premise, while not particularly unique, could have led into some pretty good storytelling that hasn't really been delved into with the games. I think what held it back was them limiting themselves with not trying too hard because its a cartoon for kids. Which is why you get stuff like Sonic's character being flanderized as a high-active doofus, and the Chaos Council being stuck to their one-dimensional personality traits.

The Chaos Council was wasted potential, it should have been made up of Modern Eggman, Nega, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Robotnik, Post Reboot Archie Eggman, and Underground Robotnik. And potentially Satam Snivley as a rejected member who was left in his own world due to the Eggmen and Robotniks not trusting Snivley because of personal experience with their own off-screen Snivleys. Heck, Scratch and Grounder were originally meant to be in the show.

Personally, I think the reason Sonic doesn’t go so fast that everything slows down around him in every battle is because he loves the challenge. Yes, he wants to the greater good, but also, the fight is one of the things he enjoys. It’d probably be monotonous to Sonic if he just went light speed in every situation.

Manga can attest to this, whenever I watch a show when him, I often pause to comment or because I want to make a joke (frankly, I'm surprise he hasn't told me to stop doing that.) Season 1 of Prime, I did it often. Season 2, I did it a couple times. Season 3 I only remember pausing for rock jokes. That was the only thing that kept me going during season 3. There were genuine moments of silence where I had *nothing* to say at all, my brain just switched off in pure boredom

Why do people think Sonic should go for character development? He wasn't made for that, he was made to be a constant and unchanging character, but the writers are too scared to go out of the box and adapt their style to Sonic instead of the other way around.

People tend to make the mistake of thinking dynamic characters are better, but that's only because most static characters are often not written for serialized stories, or are written very poorly. For example, you have Goku, that doesn't really learn much through Dragon Ball Z since most of his character arc is in the original Dragon Ball, but the story is still interesting just from seeing that same Goku succeed against increasingly insurmountable odds while being the same guy who just wants to keep having fun through fighting. He never learns, not once did he stop to think "will letting this guy heal bite me in the ass later?" after he did it like 3 times and it did bite him in the ass.

But GOSH, the writers wrecked it. It’s just green Hill variations, and it’s so not fleshed out. I hate how Sonic and so many other characters act way too childish in this series. Ever since Sonic found out about Ghost Hill, He hasn’t heard anything that Nine says unless He believes that it will help him. Which is how Sonic forgot that He told Nine that they were going to go To The Grim together and why Nine accused Sonic of only using him. Nine carefully held onto every single word Sonic ever said and kept doing things for him but Sonic seemingly never returned the favor. 19:00 Nine never said that He believed that Sonic didn’t know about it. He just said how they arrived. Also He is possessive of Sonic and it affects his thought process. Sonic told him that he would be right back but Sonic did not come back, instead he stayed with the others and it looked suspicious. Sonic did not deny that he planned it, instead he taunts Nine about Nine’s feelings by making fun of the fact that Nine really hoped he could be trusted and that he wasn’t lying. “Who knew that I had so many friends” excluding Nine. On Sonic talking to Nine, he didn’t, not really. Sonic’s problem was that He did not do enough talking or listening. Nine did try listening and trusting him but Sonic kept showing that he should not be obeyed or trusted. The reason why It only worked the last time is because that was the first time that Sonic showed Nine that he meant it.

I'd like to make an opinionated statement about Chaos Sonic real quick. I think this robot duplicate is one of the Netflix show's coolest characters, solely because he's just as, if not more than annoying compared to Prime Sonic. Deven Mack (Prime Sonic's VA) even went out of his way to do an impression of SatAM Sonic just for him! Chaos Sonic had a great first impression; it's just that they never allowed Prime Sonic to learn a thing a two from him, they killed him off in the weirdest way I've seen a Metal counterpart go down so far, and they never thought about having Nine bring him back as a way to go after the real Sonic.

I seriously was with low expectations, ever since everyone was so Hype with Season 1. Watching the first episode (Well, 1 and 2 together), I Immediately KNEW where the story was going... Heck, I figured out Nine was going to betray the characters, JUST because they putted that characterization of Edginess. As the script progressed, I was having Migraine over the fact that the concept of Multiverse was so wrong, that I even get tired to see 3 versions of 5 characters, I mean, budget aside, it should have been more fun if there were more characters that we know; As well as other locations, Except, you Know, SHOWING 3 Different Versions Of Green Hill?!? (And Seriously, Everyone lived in ONE location??). The characterizations was from Ok to Irritating, Sonic takes the price; Yeah, Hero needs to learn his mistakes and grow, but the direction was SO distracting! (You wanted to Stop the Crisis or Not, Sonic?); Heck, even people put the Joseph Campbell´s Monomite as the show was progressing, but all went to trash, once Season 3 appeared. I was exhausted half that season, because of that AGONIZING Rhythm, repeating Win/Lose battles. And No, This is definitely NOT CANON. Not in my book, because the characters are Out of Place, I wont Bother to said each, but I could easily said that the Baby Eggman was So Annoying I wished someone could "put him to sleep". I can take Aosth, because at least is what it is... Surrealism for Kids; Boom a Tolerate Comedy for Kids and Adults; But Prime?... I dont even know... 4:46 - Really... Im Scare. 13:40 - Kinda hard, I tell you. Maybe for a kid, but for me as an adult? What ticks me off about Sonic Prime, is that there is no Silver and Blaze. They would've been perfect to use for this show's plot. Such wasted potential for not adding them. Then there's the Chaos Council. Dear lord, the Chaos Council as villains are awful. Easily one of the worst I've seen in sonic media. Especially Doctor Babble.. Putting Rouge with Team Sonic was the first sign that the series was going to be bad. The funny thing is that everyone said it was a good series when season 1 came out, something i never understood given that even season 1 is bad. Nothing interesting happens and the alternate forms are so bland. Rusty, Dread and Chao Sonic and Rebel Rouge are the only ones I like because they are either well written or they are funny. Also the plot twist with Nine is the worst things i never see.

1:11:02 look. Here is the one thing I will say about this. People hate prime sonic because it botches his character up. Some may even say the show makes a bastardisation of an attempt at sonic. So no matter what way you try to spin it, even IF it makes for a genuinely well written story itself, in isolation, fixes all the problems here and would make for a character that does in fact work; that still doesn’t matter at all, because then you just have an entirely different version of that SAME problem- then you just have a complete bastardisation of sonic, yes that’s even IF he’s his best old self again by the end, for there in those early parts, it’s just equally not sonic. Then people would still be rightfully calling out the exact same criticism, that his character was ruined in Prime. Making it an actually well written character arc because of it doesn’t change that problem. And yeah, what you describe really, genuinely is as much of a crime to sonic as Shadow in Rise of Lyric is, and also just like with that, no being a different canon really doesn’t help that one bit, not with a level of bastardisation as that. Felt like Woody before the Black Friday Reel tbh, and needed the same treatment he got after that if you want sonic fans to see him as sonic. So I don’t see how taking this kinda approach could possibly be a good idea EITHER. Edit: you acknowledge it at the end, yah I’ll acknowledge your acknowledgment, but I still don’t think it can be excused, not much more to it.

It had its problems, mainly s3 being one long fight that dragged, captain dread and sonic being really dumb at points. It also has a lot of good in it too. Nine was a great villian and shadow is at his best. Watched it twice and enjoyed it both times.

In my opinion the show is just alright. Not terrible but not impressive, like season 1 was good and had a great setup. Season 2 was ok but had some bland moments, and season 3 just dragged. Like New Yolk was a cool world! At first the choss council was kinda cool, until they just over done their bland personality traits. Nine was a dope character. But the rest of the worlds were boring and generic! Like this is a dimension hopping show and we get the most lame worlds like forest, or pirate world, like come on now!

Every sonic show, even the bad ones, had something to remember. AOSTH had scratch and grounder, characters who have cameo'd in the IDW and Archie Comics and great art direction, despite it's goofy tone Satam has the Dark Tone and the Freedom Fighters, characters who survived passed the show's ending until 2017, despite only having 26 episodes Underground had Sonia and Manic, as well as that BUSTING theme song, despite being pretty garbage Sonic X had great adaptations of the Adventure Games & Battle and a fantastic final season, despite most of the stuff from season 1 and 2 being pretty boring/bad Sonic Boom had comedy, despite not doing much Knuckles had some good action sequences, some funny moments, and heartfelt moments, despite it's focus leaning sometimes too much on the humans Sonic Prime has none of these things. Every Sonic show has committed to their premises, yet prime feels half baked, boring, and absolutely stale. It wants to be canon but has so many inconsistences with the game world, and the characterization of sonic is so bad and a cheap imitation of movie sonic, who worked because he was a seperate universe. It wants to be a multiverse story, yet we only visit 3 sets of alternate universes, and only like, 4 of these AU characters are really interesting. It wants to be an action show, yet the action is shaky, feels too kiddy, too short. It wants to be a big sonic crossover, yet they don't use any of the extended cast and only use the core cast of the adventure games + orbot and cubot! It is a CRIME characters like silver, blaze, marine, sticks, the chaotix, cream, omega, the classic characters (Mighty, Ray, Trip, Honey, The Hooligans, Heavy & Bomb, The Witchcarters, The Battle Bird Armada), hell I would've taken characters from Satam or Fleetway to make this feel more like a multiverse show. It just could've been so much better if it tried to commit to it's ideas. It wants to be everything, yet it feels like nothing. Also holy shit was that Shadow759 in the intro?
