Sadly, every handheld Sonic game past the Game Gear are basically refused to be acknowledged. The closest thing we got was Sonic Advance 1 being on the Japanese Wii U eShop more than a decade ago. As for the Storybook games, I'm pretty sure they're aren't gonna touch the poorly received games with a 10-foot pole.

I only had about an hour or so of play before rendering this video, uploading it and leaving for work, but the level design in particular has a lot more paths (some really cleverly hidden) that I missed showing off in the video.

my only issue with rush 3d is that it doesn't really retain the same gameplay as rush. It's design is much more akin to unleashed and generations. The rush games were incredibly similar to the genesis games in terms of level design, except instead of "you have to work for speed", its more like "we give you the speed for free, but can you handle it?". I kinda wish that rush 3-D was a much more literal translation of that design to 3-D

I get you. I think the problem would be that it would feel like giving sonic a super fast boost in sonic adventure 2. instead of feeling like you have to control Sonic's speed, It would feel as if the level just wasn't designed with it in mind. I feel like they prioritised making you feel good and free with the speed rather than accuracy here, which is kind of a bummer even if i can see why

This is one of those rare 3d fan games that actually feel like they could be an official product. Great controls with the right amount of snappiness and looseness in the right places. It has a very focused, tight level design where everything fits together really well. I think it's the smart sprinkles of automation is what gives it that "official" feel. They aren't over-bearing, but they function as "safety-nets" and seamlessly keeping the pace.

This looks like Rush'd Colors. And i love it. The level deisgn reminds me of Tropical Resort and Sweet Mountain, and the only instance where the camera doesn't look like it was pulled straight out of Colors is when the character is boosting on a 3D area, where it looks more like Generations

My childhood remagined in such a beautiful recreation. I'm sad this soundtrack hasn't been replicated in anyway for future official Sonic games as this is peak ost for me personally. Rush will always be "that guy" for me

Amazing style, better camerawork than the official games and it's a joy to play through although i'm seriously impressed... The thing i dislike the most about this fangame is the button mapping, i don't find it neither faithful to the ds games (i know it's impossible) nor actually modern or customizable. I want to homing attack with square and boost with r2 for example like frontiers, and i can do 1 of those 2. This should be an option imo, since the original game also had the homing attack mapped to a different button.

@@MariusUrucu not the individual actions tho. The air dash/homing attack is always after jump using the jump button. The same goes for drift and tricks

@AsecasJavi I understand your concern, and I do plan on personally improving this at some point. The best way I can put it without taking literal hours to type it out is that it is way easier said than done. Also not really helped by the fact that we're using rewired for this, which ironically makes this very issue 1000x more difficult to address

I think it would be fun if you could toggle the other Sonic voice lines to be bitcrushed in line with the ones with Rush, would help with the cohesion a little bit.

I love this but let me list my few doubts, as a transition from 2D/3D (though maybe this was just a one off to get Sega's attention, i dunno): -Rank balancing -Special Stages -Hub world -Stage Gimmicks Anything else i dont care about because I just wanna hope whatever it is, its possible the get the same feel and vibe as SR was back then. but new and refreshed. great job snd hope to see a hecka loottt more from them!

@@vertigo1721 You can always use Steam Input. Just add Sonic Rush 3D in your Steam library, Enable Steam Input (in the right side of the play button there should be a controller icon, click it) and boot it from Steam.
