I instantly knew quick cyclop was a reference to the blue tornado move in Sonic heros, same with phantom rushed being referenced to team blast. I use to play Sonic hero's all the time so I definitely recognized the moves when Frontiers was first showcased.

A lot of this is bogus. If anything, the sonic boom would be a reference do that one move in Sonic Battle where he shoots a projectile. And you act like every move where Sonic spins in a tornado-like fashion is a reference. Sureeee, SEGA made a reference to Sonic ‘06, and a fan game.
