Guys i have a theory: amy saw sonic in his shadow costume in superstars (wich takes place before adventure 2) so she thought shadow is sonic in the shadow costume when she met him in sa2

I love Shadow, he's my favorite character, but I DO NOT want to see him in the Classic Era. Reason being because he's so popular I don't want him to take the spotlight from underappreciated characters that are locked in the Classic Era. Games like Sonic Mania and Sonic Superstars are great opportunities to give forgotten characters like Fang, Mighty, and Ray time to shine. And it also gives legacy characters like Tails, Knuckles, and Amy bigger roles than what we see in the modern games.

I don't know, I think it would be better if they added shadow in Frontier and not in Superstars cuz having a shadow skin for Sonic or having a shadow model on Sonic Superstars doesn't have much sense either in the cannon

I mean, sorta. Of course, back then when Izuka did say that Shadow(the character himself) won't be in Superstars, cause it wouldn't make sense in the timeline, heck Shadow was in his Cryo Chamber around that time before he was released in Adventure 2(Since Superstars takes place before the Adventure games). While there are some people who are expecting a classic model of Shadow for Superstars as a DLC, I don't think that would be the case. So, having a Costume of Shadow is the closest thing we got. And I suppose I can't argue with any of that.
