Most Sonic games only finish development 5 minutes before the game is released. The fact they are finished with development of the game this far in advance is very surprising. This is a good sign for quality control so there is a good chance the final product will be fully polished and ready for release.

blaze as a character is kind of confusing... in 06 (canon or not) is in silver´s time, but then in the idw comics, she is in another dimension. can someone please explain?

@@Lewisart-eo8fv to my understanding 06 takes place PRIOR to the idw comics and sonic rush games, when blaze is sealed into another dimension with iblis within her she stays there at the end of 06 as she isnt seen within the void in the last level, my theory is that when the timeline was reset at the end of 0 when people no longer remembered anything, she the timeline didnt reset her position, just her memories, thus making it so she was ALWAYS a part of that second dimension, this is to my best understanding of it all as i am fascinated by how time travel shit works in fictional media

I'm just excited for this game mostly because since it's gonna be on *ALL* modern consoles, it's the first time Generations has been on a Nintendo console, well, unless you count the 3DS version, but, like Colors DS, considering it uses the rush engine, it's a different game entirely, the story of both games is relatively the same(though, Colors DS has a lil' side story with Blaze, Team Chaotix is in it as well, it also has a true final boss if you collected all the Chaos Emeralds)but the gameplay is *E N T I R E L Y* different compared to their original counterparts

What they're doing does sound like this is likely going to be a step in the right direction for the Sonic franchise, and I never played the original Generations game so playing this new version of it won't be a repeat for me. I strongly hope that what I've heard about Shadow's story in this upcoming game means that Sega has finally realized how much of a bad idea it was for them to take away all of what had made Shadow be such a popular character, which was the character developement that he had gotten through SA2, Heroes, and 06. They made him be too much of a friendless edgeloard that he couldn't even be part of Team Dark anymore! So I hope that they've finally understood how much of a major mistake doing that was and that they are trying to use his story in this game as a way to deal with it and bring the better version of him from those 3 old games back, instead of letting that annoying mistake continue to not get fixed up!

I feel like we won't have to worry about the level design tbh. Since on top of making Shadow Gens, they were remastering Sonic Gens, they could've been seeing what made is so great and could've taken notes from the levels and applied it to Shadow Gens if that makes sense. Also I think SonicXShadow Gens is meant to be pronounce like SpyXFamily or HunterXHunter where the X is silent.

I'm REALLY hoping for at least three levels: Final Chase (SA2)(confirmed), Westopolis (Shadow The Hedgehog)(confirmed), and maybe White Acropolis (Sonic 06) or another Sonic Heros level such as Mystic Mansion or Lost Jungle. At least 1 big boss fight: Biolizard (Confirmed). And as a bonus, a rival fight would be so peak: It could be either a fight against Sonic or Mephiles the Dark. Good job for the trailer already confirming 3 of my 4 needs for this new addition.

Yeah Twitter is overreacting (as usual) to that icon, which is probably also the box art. You just need to look at other remasters to figure out they often have a very similar cover to the original version. 3D World on Switch is the same as on Wii U but with a Bowser's Fury segment added to the bottom. Sonic X Shadow Gens seems to be doing the same but with the new game portion being on the top.
