I think we probably never compared Sandopolis Zone to Labyrinth Zone because we thought that Hydrocity Zone was Sonic 3 and Knuckles' answer to Labyrinth since they are both water levels. But as I look at Sandopolis again, I do see some similarities between Sandopolis, Act 2 in particular, and Labyrinth! Both of those zones have "endless" sliding sections, and they are both long and confusing! Only difference indeed is that one has sand, and the other has water!

Let’s all agree on one thing, Sandopolis is pretty much the scariest level in the entire classic sonic franchise. I literally cannot think of any level more terrifying than this one. And in “terrifying,” I don’t mean “AGH! THERES A GHOST!!!” Terrifying, I mean “Damn it, this is my 1000th try” terrifying. Don’t even get me started on those annoying damn ghosts and all that nightmarish sand, along with the entire damn level just going completely dark every 30 seconds.

how do you get that extra bounce at 3:25??? i’m playing with knuckles and can’t get over that part because he can’t jump that high.

idk, maybe that's the job of the lightning shield?

The shields do different things for both characters. For sonic: electric shield, double jump. Fire shield, fire invulnerability; fireball. Bubble shield, breathe underwater. For Knuckles, he trades all of that for the climbing and gliding abilities. The fire shield still gives fire invulnerability tho :)

It took me...idk how long when i was a kid. But EVERYTIME I'd get to the boss? I'd only have maybe 10 seconds left out of the timer to beat it, and couldn't as it took my 8 year old brain FOREVER just to get there! Ugh! Lol. I didnt have much ghost problems as i was stuck in areas with the light switch, but oh my lord is this level frustrating. Just Act 2.

Sonic Plush Heroes - It's called the Super Peel-Out. You can do it in Sonic CD, I'm not sure how he managed it here because I couldn't do it on my version. Probably not a mod though
