To anyone who us wondering how the voices are on the sega Genesis, they are stored on a PCM chip in the Genesis which can store low quality samples (CD audio) thats why is sounds bit crunched. Once the rom is dumped online i will disassemble it. (IGN pls pin or heart) Edit: by the way you can store PCM samples like this in sonic 1 through 3 via disassemblies!

It was never really the hardware that gave video games in the 80s and 90s limitations. You can literally play Elden Ring on the Sega Genesis with enough knowledge knowledge it was mainly the cartridges and how limited they were when it came to storage capacity.
