Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Teaser (2024) Official Update

Paramount Pictures has officially resumed production of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie. Director Jeff Fowler announced this. The actors announced their return to roles. The story features Shadow, who was officially teased in the post-credits scene of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and the possible appearance of Metal Sonic.

However, what if the soldier tried to shoot Shadow but Maria jumped in front and took the hit to save him. While on her dying breath, she send Shadow safety down to earth while promise him to protect earth and its inhabitant. The Soldier did regret killing a innocent minor by accident.

If Metal does appear, I would like to see a callback to the first movie in the fight against Sonic and Metal where Sonic quickly runs circles around Metal, building mass amounts of energy, and then abruptly stopping only to redirect the massive electrical blast right at Metal, overloading his systems. It would be a nice callback to the first movie where Sonic couldn't control his emotions on the Baseball Field, but now he's in complete control over his powers. That would be my dream moment in the movie.

I have a feeling that putting shadow and metal sonic in the same movie would be difficult without having one ruin the other's screen time. the movies are a chance for these characters to be revived to their full potential. metal sonic needs another chance to pose a real threat to sonic. and shadow needs to be more than just a regular side character. it's possible to pull off having both of these characters in their full potential in the same movie, just difficult.

Honestly, since Rouge and Shadow are already being introduced (perhaps even Amy), introducing Metal would be too much for one movie. What I wish to happen is Metal being teased in a post-credit scene, revealing a blueprint for a robotic doppelganger based on both Sonic and Shadow. Then, the fourth movie could be a triple adaptation of Sonic CD, Sonic Heroes and Sonic '06, introducing Silver coming from a future dominated by Metal Overlord, trying to destroy the OG Sonic. A similar plot to Terminator would be great, and if Amy at this point hasn't been introduced yet, that would be the perfect time, since Sonic CD was her first debut and she has a major impact in Silver's storyline in '06.

It makes sense to introduce her and Shadow in the same film. I love Shadow but a timeline closer to the games should have the third movie feature Amy and Metal Sonic and Shadow and Rouge arrive in the 4th one.

This film is going to be the big test to see whether or not the characters can carry the movie without Jim Carrey there. It's possible to do in this film because we're getting Shadow, who is of course a heavy artillery character when it comes to gathering crowds. So I don't think we'll have any issues with people being interested in seeing Sonic 3. But for movies after this, it's going to depend on who they bring in. Chaotix would probably help in the comedy relief department. But as far as main storylines go, in order to top this movie, they're going to need something impressive as hell (I can think of a couple things that would probably do the trick, but who knows if we'll see any of them or not; the movies have been giving hints that one of these might be an eventual possibility, but we'll see).

But if they did replace her at any point (like in a later movie), it would be with Ashleigh Ball, since she's the only other active VA that is voicing iterations of Tails. Now I'm suddenly thinking of other characters the MLP cast could voice. This is jumping ahead and assuming they do more movies after the third one. But might we one day get Andrea Libman voicing a character? I can think of a couple that she would be a good fit for (such as Cream the Rabbit, and also... someone else...). And for that matter, Tara Strong would probably make a good Charmy.

But thats not an alternative ending. Thats really how Sonic and Knuckles started out. They started as enemies, learned Knux is kinda dumb and easily tricked, and ended things as allies and friends. The only alternative ending that can be for the Sonic Movie 3, is that Shadow doesn't get essentially near eliminated by a fall from Space to Earth. Also making Rouge an ally from the forefront ruins the rivalry between her and Knux, and being the one person, besides Amy who may not get in, that appeals to Shadow's conscious and showed legitimate concern for the Introverted bugger.

Shadow is quite literally Jeff Fowler's favorite Sonic character. I seriously doubt he'd change that part of Shadow's backstory. It's the cornerstone of his entire character arc. So even if they couldn't have an ARK colony due to budget, I don't think that part changes. What I'm more interested to know is how they're going to change the origin of Project Shadow, since it's taking place on Earth and NOT Sonic's world (in the games, it was all on Sonic's world).

Bryce Papenbrook or Jason Griffith must play Shadow. If Metal Sonic has a actor, i'd love to see Ryan Drummond come back as he aced the role of Neo Metal Sonic in Sonic Heroes. I'd prefer the person who played Rouge before Shadow the Hedgehog or someone who sounds like her as i thought SonicX had her sound older than she actually is. The big problem is that they are skipping Sonic CD, Knuckles Chaotix and Sonic Adventure to do Sonic Adventure 2 as a movie. Another issue is that Hero Side and Dark Side stories are taking place at the same time. This is what made it hard to do on Sonic X. And for those who watch the first episode of SonicX, Route 101 is in Sonic Adventure 2. If you go to scene select for the first film, you will see a scene is called Final Chase. This is the name of the last Dark Side stage in Sonic Adventure 2. Hero Side has Final Rush. The correct ending is in the Dark Side as it leads to the Last Episode. The Hero ending destroys the Eclipse Cannon. This eliminated a lot of the things done in the franchise later. Sonic X barely did this game with 10 or 11 episodes. I feel like a movie is not a good idea.

Hollywood is not particularly kind to actual voice actors when it comes to adaptations. Charles Martinet is literally in the Mario movie as Mario's dad, but they still insisted on casting Chris Pratt as Mario and Charlie Day as Luigi instead. I'm not going to get my hopes up that they actually use another OG VA when Tails is literally the only character with his original VA. Hollywood always goes for big name actors. At this point Christian Bale is more likely than OG VA, and that's the preferable option for a big name actor.

I really don't see them putting both Metal Sonic and Shadow in the same movie. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The point of Shadow was to give Sonic a foil and rival, a gap that Metal Sonic somewhat filled before Shadow's appearance. Introducing Shadow and Metal Sonic in the same film would feel like the movie is putting the same two characters against Sonic. I can't really imagine Jeff Fowler would do this, given that Shadow is his favorite character in the franchise. I'd wager on this being more of a movie about Shadow.

I hope Paramount will make Shadow looks sharper because at this moment he's just re-coloured Sonic. Also I think Metal Sonic shouldn't be part of this movie, he may steal Shadows thunder. If anything he should only act as Eggmans assistant, for now I mean. And I really hope Silver will be announced via post credit scene. He and Blaze doesn't get enough love when it comes to anything outside games. I wish some time in the near future someone will make reboot of "Sonic X" and it would include Silver and Blaze. I do kind of deeply hope that Jim Carrey returns as a surprise. You know... just to complete a trilogy. Maria can't die of natural causes or Shadow would have no reason to hate humanity. The whole reason he hated humanity in the original story was because Maria died during a raid on the Ark that GUN performed because they decided to backtrack on the experiments they had requested from Gerald and destroy the Ark and everyone on it to erase all evidence, thus making them directly responsible for her death.

Just a small specification.. In game: Maria didn’t die from her sickness, Government HUMAN soldiers shot the CHILD in front of Shadow. He didn’t know anyone beyond the ship. His whole world was shattered by humans. Not the full reason Shadow decides to take out humans, but you can see how it would certainly add to it.

It's possible to still portray Maria's death as it was shown in Sonic Adventure 2. They show Shadow in an escape pod, and Maria sends him off b/c the colony is being infiltrated. They never show her being shot or even apprehended. I think this would be fine for PG.

I think Colleen will still be in the third movie. She said at Retropalooza last year that she loves playing as tails. However paramount didn’t inform her who was playing knuckles. She was only there at the studio to record her lines and found out the rest of the cast closer to premiere date. Probably same thing here. I think it’s a little crummy but I don’t think they’re changing the voice actor.
