Two years have passed since the fall of the Doomsday Project, along with Dr. Robotnik’s reign, but his nephew Snively has since risen to power as the new ruler over Robotropolis, and continues the search and destruction of all remaining Freedom Fighters.
The groundbreaking discovery of the mystical Chaos Emeralds sparks a race to decide the fate of the world. Will Sonic and friends finally bring an end to Snively and his forces, or will it be the end of everything?

NGL, I love the character designs. One that particularly stood out to me was Sonic. I love how he has fur on his face separate from his quills. That has to be one of the most unique design choices for him I’ve ever seen!

Try "Archie Comics in General". The whole reason Ken Penders even copyrighted the characters he had created was because a previous Archie artist was given the boot _without_ severance payment or any kind of legal payment rights, lost the lawsuit, and passed poor and destitute. Ken _also_ didn't actually try to deny Archie the use of his copyrighted characters, he just wanted to be _Paid,_ and Archie simply wanted him to give up the characters for free. TL:DR Archie went full Black Company and ended up picking a fight with the wrong person. As for the whole thing with "Why IDW characters got a mention" was because if you listened to an unbiased translation, there are NO mentions of _any_ IDW characters. _THAT_ was Ian Flynn shoehorning in _his_ characters by altering the Translation, as Ian Flynn was part of the English Crew, and thus, was in a position to manipulate the script. By using that "IDW Characters get a mention in Sonic Frontiers", you just admitted that you are accepting of Translation fabrication if it benefits your agenda.

@@ixiahj No, they aren't. IDW being "mentioned" in Sonic Frontiers is because Ian Flynn was part of the english storywriting team, which is a fancy way of saying "He's part of the translation team". In fact, if you actually looked up the Japanese version, you'd find absolutely _ZERO_ mention of any IDW characters. Yeah, this was pointed out by the Japanese half of Sonic Team, that they didn't write in any IDW characters. That was entirely Ian Flynn on the english side.

I have many things to say. #1 absolutely love the new designs and The 90s anime art style really is a flawless idea! #2 you want to revive a series that died many years ago and people still love it even today! It just needs to be faithful to the original. You're making this in honor of Ben Hurst (I hope I spelled that right). #3 Putting your own twist on it is absolutely phenomenal! Because you're letting people know that this is written by somebody else. I think we're in a Sonic Renaissance right now and I love every minute of it. SatAM had the right stuff. Sonic was cool and free, Sally was thoughtful and collective, a natural leader and a ground for Sonic. All of them fighting an evil genius and all the odds stacked against them, yet making it work and getting it done. It was such a fun show and wish is got the accolades it deserved. And I think Mr.Hurst would of been beyond thrilled to see this much devotion, thoughtfulness, and care being used. He would of loved it.

Sonic's redesign (along with Tails' and Rotor's) might take some getting used to but I'm definitely sold on everything else and I can't wait. One thing to note about the production of the original show is that Ben Hurst and Pat Allee weren't in charge of the story until Season 2. Before that, they only wrote a single episode for Season 1 (and also pitched an episode for AoStH which got rejected). The showrunners were originally going to be Len Janson (along with Chuck Menville who sadly was fighting a fatal illness at the time) and a father & son duo, Bruce and Reed Shelly who later left the project to focus on the syndicated episodes which later became their own show which was Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

This looks really impressive so far. But to be honest , as an artist myself I’m not a huge fan of sonic and tails new designs. I primarily take issue with sonics spikes. I get where you’re going with them (trying to make sonic look more like a real hedgehog) but I think they don’t work for two main reasons. No.1 is the new color, I’m not INHERENTLY opposed to the idea, but as it is now I think it just adds another layer of segmentation to sonics design that was already achieved with his muzzle and belly color. No.2 is his new Vegeta style widows peak, which clashes with the flow of Sonics head shape. I think I came up with a couple ways to fix this though. The easiest would be to just get rid of the new color and the widows peak and effectively revert back to Sonics original design. Another somewhat easy fix would be to invert Sonic’s widows peak, which would restore his head shape. And lastly would be to give sonic back the Mohawk hairstyle he had in the original show, I think the Mohawk does a better job of separating his spikes from the rest of Sonics spikes and it would make the widows peak look more natural. Of course all this design stuff is subjective, and it’s up to you wether or not you want to make any changes. I’d love to draw these ideas and send them to you, if you’re cool with that.

I think the current Sonic movies have the chance to bring back Sally and the Freedom Fighters. I feel like there could be a movie where Eggman gives up on taking over Earth and starts trying to take over another planet where the Freedom Fighters live, so they send a distress call to Sonic and his friends.

Better yet, Sonic, Tails, and the others have kind of been into an Escape from the Planet of the Apes type scenario, and they realized that Eggman was trying to alter the past Mobius, that is, the planet Earth, and that he had planned to pull off an incident that was not unlike what had happened in Thundarr the Barbarian, and so Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and the others, know that things got really bad, so the Freedom Fighters, the Fleetway characters, and the IDW characters, along with the other Sega characters that had been in their various Sonic universes have to stand up to face him, only to find a new threat, namely, Chaos.

Ever since I'd gained genuine consciousness and an awareness to the world around me when I was a little kid, I've been a very big fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. I've watched him throughout all his high highs and very low lows, but through it all, SatAM was always one of my favorite pieces of Sonic media. Of course, as a young boy, I watched the show because haha funny blue hedgehog go fast, but as I've gotten older, I've gained a new appreciation for it. It was gritty, it was kinda dark, and most importantly, it was VERY different. A new cast of characters, a deep and captivating story, and much higher stakes than any project of his I'd seen at the time. The bleak, dreary city of Robotropolis made me think, what if our world was full of mindless "bots" like Robotnik had intended? Upon a brief rewatching of the series, it really is hard to fathom that the show unfortunately didn't go any further than it did. Of all the Sonic projects that I think are deserving of a revival and a second chance, SatAM is easily at the top of my list. I wish you the best of luck with this, because I know that it can't be easy. Can't wait to see where your adaptation of this series sendoff goes!

Evan, it’s been about 9 months since you originally told me about the call on vc with I believe Crimson Savy and Manic himself. That day was a good one and ever since then I’ve been hoping that your project could come to fruition. The only thing I don’t like about SatAM, is Julian Kintobor(AKA: the SatAM/Archie Robotnik.) I’m sorry, but I prefer my Robotniks/Eggmen to be funny and goofy with a sense of dark carelessness but also deep down having a heart with good intentions.(The games, AOSTH, Sonic X, Sonic Boom, Sonic Prime, & Jim Carrey.)

So there were two major impacts for me with the sonic franchise. The original white vhs tape with metal sonic, and the original freedom fighters. People completely overlooked that story because of how datk it got whrn robotnik framed sonic for the death of sally acorn. After that no one wanted to try anything wity the storyline for a live screen adaptation, since it was obviously much too graphic for kids. However modern day readers, and more than that writers (in some older programs) had completely overlooked that character development, which is very much canon to the series. Sonic has had many restarts so to speak on his exact timeline. In morern itterations, sonic has a seeming inability to get with amy. The reason is literally because of sally acorn. It was because robotnik knew sonic cared for her that he did what he did, afterwards sonic never wanted anyone THAT close. He grew from it, and natured as a character over the years of its development, however because that story hasn't been told part of his foundation is missing in some interactions of his character. Such as sonic boom (though to be fair this was never meant to be a serious take on the series.) Not only that but it is part of sonics literal origin as a freedom fighter. Beyond that, sally was actually a very respectable character, filling a role that honestly overlaps with both tails and amy (in such tellings like sonic x where amy commands an army briefly) and her character makes sense to be something that would not only keep sonic in line, but also guide tails in development, and possibly even to some extent have a bit of friction with amy, who could act as a caralyst for sally to take her romantic feelings fir sonic more seriously, while driving a lot of growth. Amy was introduced, shortly after sally was killed off, as a damsel in distress piece; which never really sat well with me. Dont get me wrong, her progress and development as a character is definitely inspiring, however she also never had any real competition when it comes to the dominant female cast for the show, except maybe rouge; but we dont count that.

Very small nitpick about the pitch,(nothing to do with the project itself, it looks awesome), but if you're specifically using 90s anime as inspiration for the designs and drawing comparisons for your pitch, then it would probably make more sense to credit the directors of these shows and movies. A lot of them are adaptations of a separate source material, and have their own visual identity thanks to the directors and character designers making the original work for the screen. Even with Cowboy Bebop, an anime original Hajime Yatate is a pseudonym credit for a bunch of Sunrise studio staff, and Watanabe is the creative director for the whole project, so it would be cool to credit both names. Again, I'm just being really pedantic, and Idk if you'll really need to use this nitpick ever, but I just wanted to get it out there since it applies to crediting anything animated imo.

First time watching satam I fell in love with it man that ending really left me sad and after watching the many vids explaining the history I wish Ben was still around and ken I never thought I would hate someone so much after learning what he did bloody gremlin and also I say satam will always been my top because after all this series is what gone me into beast wars which shockingly fullfil my void but even though it had a sequel it was just well something but I wish it took notes from satam if it did well a guy could dream and that's just me

Even after all these years & seeing countless interpretations of the sonic universe, I still consider the Sat-Am version to be the best & most relevant. I wish the best for this revivifaction project. Thank you for keeping the fight alive!
