You couldn't tell by the ginormous, conspicuous green pipe that wasn't present anywhere else in the stage, with an abnormally shaped crusher that seemingly lead straight into said pipe? I practically begs for you to step into it.

Now I see, you can also access that room below the rail through an opening at the bottom of the leftmost wall, as long as you're not blasted upwards by that checkered floor. Much easier.

Tex Tepig This will be hard to believe, but I found that generator on my own. The timer was about to run out, and the crusher was right next to me, so I decided to get it over with and crush Sonic. Next thing I know, I'm zooming through the pipe to the generator. I spent the next few minutes freaking out becuase I managed to find that cryptic as hell solution without a guide.

Believe it or not, I was actually one step away from legitimately figuring it out for myself. After going back and forth through the level I noticed that there was a one-way door in the past and present, and it led to an area that didn't seem accessible from any other direction. In the future, there is no door. It's just a big empty space. Then, I found a pipe in the future that leads to that empty space. I thought maybe you could enter the pipe while time traveling, but that didn't seem to be possible. In the present, the entrance to the pipe is behind a door that can't be opened. When I looked in the past there was no door at all. There was just a crusher where the pipe entrance should be. I couldn't see any way to enter a pipe from there. That was where I gave up. Even after all of that, why would I ever think to let the thing crush me? That's so stupid!

I found by accident. In my experience, you don't actually need to get crushed, you just need to enter the tube right below it. Yea, even then I thought that was pretty unfair

I respect the game for asking you to find an odd solution for getting the robot teleporter. If you take the bottom path when looking for it, you see it at the bottom of some pipe that leads upwards straight to the crusher. If you take the top path, you see a suspiciously placed crusher, the only one that's there in the entire level. It has tiny green pipes right under it that lead to a bigger pipe. Going from top to bottom of the stage, you see that the crusher leads straight to the teleporter, and going from the bottom of the stage to the top you see the pipe rise straight into the crusher. It's a bit obtuse of a step to take, but it is entirely possible to figure it out on your own like I did if you pay attention.

Thats literally the most random way they could have let you gain access to that. Who the crap thought it was a good idea to make you purposefully get crushed (which literally goes against the logic of every Sonic game in existence) in order to access that stupid Generator. I actually enjoyed finding the generators in all of the previous stages.
