This issue started out scary but ended on a sad note. But I think it was meant to bring closure to the Tinker arc so that Belle can accept that her father is gone and move forward to help her friends. I can now officially forgive Sonic for the way he treated her in the beginning. In a way, I think he still feels guilty about not being able to save Belle's father from Starline before he turned him back into Eggman and the Doctors unleashing the Metal Virus on everyone.I think we can lay Mister Tinker to rest.

I agree with you on Sonic; this time, he really spoke from the heart. I also absolve him of blame for how he handled of Mr. Tinker. Still, it really was Metal Sonic who brought Eggman back, not Starline. The note kinda proves it too. Starline only managed to convince him that he was Eggman; he didn't motivate him to want to become Eggman again. It wasn't until he laid a hand on Metal Sonic that he regained his usual personality. Sonic's still not out of the woods for letting Metal Sonic go free, but I no longer doubt that he WILL feel bad about it if and when he finds out what doing so did.

@@videogollumer Sorry, but in my opinion, Starline was the one directly responsible for Tinker's death and Eggman being revived. He's the one who had him kidnapped and taken away from the village and his daughter. Metal Sonic was nothing more than an emotional trigger and Rough and Tumble may have kidnapped him but Starline was the mastermind behind it all. Staline is the main-main antagonist of the IDW Sonic series and is mostly responsible for everything that's happened. Eggman's return, spreading the metal virus, the deadly six, the villains escaping, now Surge and Kit. He has to be stopped.

I think it's because he regrets not being able to save her father from Starline and Metal Sonic and preventing EGGMAN's return. And he's truly sorry for the way he treated when they first met. The least he can do to honor his friend Tinker's memory is help look after his daughter.

8.5/10 Issue! The art was amazing and so much happened within one comic. I wish we got to see either doctors, metal or Surge and Kit but that's more for Issue 50 and Imposter Syndrome Issue 4. Seeing Belle all controlled was creepy to me but it made the Issue more awesome! Seeing tinker again was very sad to me but it was nice to get closure from the guy himself. Overall a great Issue and the hype is only getting higher!

Honestly I feel like not much happened in this issue which is fine they're saving up all the exciting stuff for issue 50 it's just that I feel like there was room for a lot more the introduction to the tower that's sending off the signal to all the robots is kind of rushed and Belle being mind controlled ends way too soon but that's just me.

Sonic liked eating other things still baffled me. Then seeing Belle with a knife is terrifying and mind controlled. Thankfully Tails is able to help free her. Poor Motobud got his plug pulled. This is truly a heartfelt issue probably one of the best ones so far. How Sonic was compassionate and reassuring Belle that she made differences and their friendship with him and others were real. Truly amazing 🤩

Well, Mr. Tinker wasn't as cowardly as I thought; even he couldn't deny the truth in the end. Perhaps Mr. Tinker was more than just Eggman with amnesia. Perhaps, when he lost his memory, Eggman also lapsed out of insanity; or else he developed dissociative identity disorder. Personally, I prefer the latter. ...Metal Sonic is still the one responsible for Eggman's memory returning, not Starline; this note actually kinda proves it. Also, Mr. Tinker may have been real; but he's dead now, annihilated. Eggman must still answer for his crimes against Humanity and Mobinity.

@@gioclayton6634 Oh no, I agree, mostly. Still, I like the other characters too much to leave on account of Sonic alone. Tbh, I was actually getting close to cursing him. Yes, I know he's a fictional character; but still, like you said, it doesn't make sense to just let him get away on purpose after what he's done. Leaving Eggman to roam free after the Metal Virus Saga, especially, is plain a great injustice for Sonic to bring down on his world and his friends. Still, I'm hoping for the best, on account of Sonic opening his heart to Belle. That not only more than makes up for his initial rude treatment of her; but this is the exact thing Sonic himself was missing in this comic, him inspiring others through words of comfort, like he's done with Elise and Shahra, rather than just inspiring the masses with his mere presence. This is what makes Sonic likable.

I wasn't expecting Tails to figure out what was happening to Belle and the Motor Bug that quickly or find a way to fix her, but that's Tails we're talking about. I think my highlight of this issue was the note to Belle written by Mr. Tinker. I did not see that coming. I also love Belle's character development at the end.

On the one hand, I feel like they could've done more to show the chaos that the gathering forces of Eggman could cause. On the other hand... I wasn't expecting that final letter from Mr. Tinker. His heartfelt apology to the world. His goodbye to his daughter. And Sonic preserving that letter as he reached out to give poor Belle the comfort she needed. This issue succeeded in making me cry. That's damn good writing. Issue 50, and Dr. Starline...we're coming for you.

I love the milage they got out of Mr. Tinker. I really loved that idea of an Eggman that turned over a new leaf, forgotten memories or not, and I was so sad to see it go so quickly. The fact that both Evan and Ian have respected the love for Mr. Tinker is astounding and this letter was really the last nail in the coffin I could have asked for. A real good-bye for a short lived but incredibly loved character. Keep tinkerin', my new favorite mechanic.

@@jaredtherock5692 There's plenty of subtlety surrounding Metal Sonic's part in it. People have been disappointed, thinking that Metal Sonic isn't being used as anything more than Eggman's flunky; but he's become a lot more than that. It's because of Sonic and Tails repairing and releasing him that allowed him to bring Eggman back. Eggman himself see Metal Sonic as his son. He also is a rival to others besides Sonic now. Starline's logs from Impostor Syndrome evidently show he is envious of the credit Metal Sonic gets from Eggman. Starline wants what he thinks is for Eggman's own good, but Eggman rejects that in favor of Metal Sonic getting Eggman what HE wants. This is shown when Metal takes the Warp Topaz from Starline and forces him through the portal as Eggman fires him, and is why Starline is shown to have such a bone to pick with Metal in his video journals. Metal is also a dark mirror of Belle. Both have been like children to their creators and are technically half-siblings. Both were created from the same genius, but for different purposes. In a sense, Belle is Eggman's illegitimate daughter, as she was made from his genius but with good in mind. Eggman even pretty much disowned her to her face with the utmost pleasure in the Test Run arc. Metal Sonic, on the other hand, he consider's his true son. Basically Metal killed Belle's father to resurrect his own father. So, yeah, there's a lot surrounding Metal at this point despite being sidelined for the most part after Issue 12.

Great issue by the way, Sonic FCBD 2022 & Imposter Syndrome 4 next month all build up to Sonic’s birthday clash in milestone Sonic IDW 50 comic where Sonic & Tails clash with the party crashers Surge & Kit, there is an aftermath where Sonic & Tails & Surge & Kit are rejuvenating themselves from huge brawl, more Sonic IDW comics on the way, Metal Sonic gets involved, It seems that Surge & Kit are going to once again turn on Starline & align themselves with Sonic & Tails as their new allies taking on Eggman, Starline & Metal Sonic for sure, plenty more suspense for sure.

Ian Flynn confirmed this on the bumble cast where he said if It weren’t for Starline’s actions Eggman would have stayed as Mr. Tinker and he said that if Metal showed up in windmill village Mr. tinker would have just taken him in and he would basically become Belle’s brother.

In fact, Starline did what Sonic should have done, remind Mr. Tinker that he was previously Eggman. It wasn't fair to anyone to keep him in the dark. Everyone knew what horrible things Eggman did, but none of them could get justice. As for Mr. Tinker, he was blissfully unaware of it all, and was target by Shadow; he would have been Targeted by Whisper next, and he wouldn't have known why. Starline actually gave Mr. Tinker a chance to repent, even though that was the opposite of his intention; because of that, it is only now that I consider him a different person, or personality rather, than Eggman. Still, I think others could have convinced him. I think even Gemerl could have convinced him; but Metal Sonic was a reflection of everything Eggman desires no one could take HIS place.

From the way he talked to her, it's implied that Eggman believed that Mr. Tinker was a waste of his time and genius, meaning he thought the same about Belle. He practically gleefully disowned her, at least that's my take on it. So, as far as I'm concerned, no, unless he ever plans to recycle her somehow for a new plan.

It was pretty bizarre for me when Belle attacked Sonic, but Belle transformed Badnik then it was just good. I'm sad that Belle lost Mr. Tinker, I think Belle will stand up for herself just because. As Sonic, Tails, and Belle raced toward the city, it seemed from afar that there was a state of war. They will meet Kit and Surge and Starline in that number, there will be a decisive fight. He will fight Sonic Surge as he will with Tails Kit. I feel like it will be number 50 in which the epic fight will play a really important role. What do you think about Silver-Sonic? I read in the comment that No. 50 will be released on June 22nd. It’s unbelievable that Idw has been around since 2017 and there were plenty of events in it from the occupation of Angel Island to the Zombot epidemic which for me was really Creepypasta and had a highly horror effect and Schizophrenic effect due to the Zombies. from the Chao Race race all the way to the Test Lab which was really bizarre when Amy, Sonic, Tails were reflected in a lot of colors, especially since Eggman gave them different tests. Everything from the Zeti Hun all the way to the Fire Trial to the Chaotix case was everything. We have reached the great mile stone dear readers, and I hope Sega celebrates it in a worthy way. It’s really unbelievable that number 50 is coming down I’m shocked.

Sonic: Huh. An army is forming at one of Eggman's cities. Let's take em down!!! Me, who read the Impostor Syndromes: \/\/E|_|_ . Sonic is a gonna die... On a side note, this story sets issue fifty up perfectly; - Whisper is roaming the earth, tracking down major threats (Such as an eggbase with way too much lightning to be safe...) - Tangle is trying to reunite with her best friend to form the best team in sonic history (Except the freedom fighters, RIP). - Surge and kit are assumedly "Vibing" with Starline at the fort, waiting to murder the heck out of their slave-master. - Starline just stole ALMOST ALL OF EGGMAN'S FORCES, so the doc is gonna be raving mad. - And of course, Sonic and his buddy Tails are dragging Belle into a trap without no escape. How fantastic.

I like this issue. This issue sums up what we were talking about awhile ago. Whether people want to admit it or not, Starline IS the real reason why Eggman got his memories back. It wouldn't have mattered if Metal Sonic came or not. Mr. Tinker was fading away and he wrote that letter to Belle as a final farewell to her because he knew he would be gone and back to Dr. Eggman. It's sad that Belle has to accept the fact that her creator is no more. Thanks a lot, Starline. Hopefully, Gemerl and Omega don't get controlled by the waves. I'm looking forward to Issue 50 when all hell breaks loose.

It's tear jerker to see Mr. Tinker write his final farewell to his creation because he cared about his "daughter" but he knew that Eggman was coming, so even if Metal Sonic didn't come, it was only a matter of time. Starline ruins everything. Imposter Syndrome 4 I think comes out next month before Issue 50. I'm excited to see how chaotic things are going to become.

Considering that he killed her father to bring back his father, and Belle at least knows he was involved, I'm guessing she'd have some resentment toward him. As for Metal, he shares Eggman's interests. I imagine that he would similarly consider Belle an illegitimate daughter of Eggman, while considering himself Eggman's true son.
