It is truly tragic that a talent like this has been silenced. I really hope to see new video of Tom playing again some day. Even at half of this. Best wishes Tom!

This Guy is a concert pianist par excellence of Rag Time music like I've never seen played before. In the world of classical music he I'm sure would be admired by top pianists of that genre for his sheer keyboard brilliance, which smacks of an element of genius, and so often under-rated.

I'd trade all my sheet music reading ability just to be able to improvise like Tom Brier can.
@stevejeffrey11
@stevejeffrey11 9 ай бұрын
what's crazy is he can sight-read, master the piece quickly & then do all sorts of cool runs and licks on the spot, completely improvised...most pianists take a lifetime to do one of those things, not all of them at the same time! without even rehearsing the song!

This is one of the best of Toms video game improves espcially the flaw of the sheets he's reading, & to think this was close to not even being uploaded as mentioned in description above. If anyone has any footage of Tom improving songs please upload, all footage of Tom on or off the piano is awesome🥰😎

Indy The Great That type of music,or similar is kinda used on western parodies, so It has to do with it, Of course the song has nothing to do with it, but the melody is similar to those used on there.

Ragtime Yard Zone: This area is based on the outskirts of a city similar to New York in the 50s, the city is covered by plants in front and surrounded by mountains from behind, Act 1 is on wooden platforms with classic pinball rebounds, and high wooden signs with platforms that touch the floor, the posters say things like Up, You Can, Cope, Hahaha. You finish the act 2 and 3 + Boss.

How the heck does he get the tempo so perfect every time?
@Keeper1st
@Keeper1st 3 жыл бұрын
Not every time. But the music dictates the tempo really. He has a lot of experience with ragtime. This was scored in 4/4 so he knew it was likely slower than a tune scored in 2/4, for example. This one also has a tempo indication on the score.

@Musicman11389

Come on, Mr. Trent. This song is in d minor. The very beginning starts with a single "A," and it walks, both higher and lower simultaneously, toward an authentic cadence on d minor. It's deceptive that the melody walks down E-C-A, which makes it tempting to think it's A minor, but it's a d minor 9. More importantly, Tom is still in an old folks home, unable to take care of himself and unable to speak more than a few words, NOT getting the speech therapy he needs, for no apparent reason.

If I was to submit a video of me playing the song, would it be possible to have Tom play it again? Just curious. I don't know how to write music, and I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but it would be nice to see him play it w/the right music and see what he can do w/it. Again, I'm not saying it's bad. It just feels kind of redundant, but when he knows the music really well, he can come up w/really good and funny things. Could you get him to play more Super Mario, Sonic, or Tetris songs? I think there's a song from Tetris on my keyboard.

Tom is incapable of playing the piano since suffering a severe head injury in a traffic accident in 2016. Besides, boogie woogie wasn't really Tom's thing -- more of a Carl Sonny Leyland thing! Still, it's a fun little tune that maybe I could transcribe some day.
