I love the idea of Metal Sonic posing as Knuckles in Triple Trouble. Yes, we know Knuckles is very gullible and is easily tricked by Eggman. But seeing as this remakes takes place after S3&K, it makes sense now. Knuckles (somewhat) learned from his mistake of trusting Eggman, and now seeing that Sonic and Tails are in trouble through the Master Emerald, he wants to return the favor by helping them after they got back the Master Emerald from Eggman while on the Death Egg.

Sonic Galactic and Sonic and Knuckles Newtrogic Panic will definitely be better than this when they come out. Personally I would say currently triple trouble 16 bit is the best but it IS debatable

Truly a beautiful remake like the Sonic 1 & 2 SMS remakes, though it's a missed opportunity that Noah still didn't allow Knuckles to collect the Chaos Emeralds. Though I do appreciate he added in a Metal Sonic and Robotnik boss to make the conclusion to his story feel more satisfying.

It wouldn't have made sense since the story occurs concurrently with Sonic and Tails' and they're collecting the Emeralds. But yeah, those Special Stages were way too fun not to have a way to play outside of six times on a Sonic + Tails file

I played the game myself recently, and no one was wrong about this game. Yeah, some of the level design is a bit garbage, and the Special Stages are annoying to locate and play, but the music, gameplay, presentation, and gimmicks like the snowboarding section in Robotnik Winter Act 2 and the Sea Fox gameplay in Tidal Plant Act 2 more than make up for it. I especially like the new end cutscene for Sonic & Tails' story after completing Final Trouble, and the new bonus stage is hell a useful for the Special Stages since that one awards you extra lives, and therefore extra chances at the Special Stages. Also, those speed gates were practically MADE for speedrunners like you, Jay. That said, can you speedrun this game for the speedrun marathon you've been doing on Saturdays some time? Those speed gates are convenient for that, hence the name.

This game would probably be on some sort of Genesis Extension because of the better sprite animation, presentation, and quality of life like the sounds and camera shake when you break a wall or gears and parts when you kill a badnik, pieces when you break a monitor, birds etc. Idk game looks better than anything on the genesis. Like compare this to Sonic 3 which is already really good graphically.
