There was always something so appealing to me about Sonic's expressions of joy whenever he went through rainbow rings in the PS2/Wii versions of unleashed. Like he was just having the time of his life as he blitzed through these locales.

I never realized how good the 2D section of Unleashed was. Cause it slow down Sonic just enough for you to keep up with him and the scenario doesn't become blurry like 3D. Becoming (at least for me) more reaction base and not trial and error in 3D where you need to go, miss and try again memorizing what kill you. Very interesting stuff.

Even in 2024, we're still trying to mod Generations to the point were it looks near identical to Unleashed. Goes to show we're a passionite mod community when it comes to Gens. And only god knows if we'll be able carry over mods from the old gens into SxS Generations. We can only wait.

Some of the best levels in all of 3D Sonic. We practically have Unleashed on PC now. It's so ridiculous to me that SEGA hasn't made Unleashed on PC yet.

We do have Unleashed on PC. Xenia Canary's recent build runs it absolutely pefectly with a few tweaks(at least on my PC). I almost forgot I wasn't playing on my Xbox 360 earlier. All I had to do was follow a guide, add in the mods it recommended, but instead of using Vulkan(which causes weird graphics problems for me), I used Direct X12 and set vulkan_validation to false, set d3d12_allow_variable_refresh_rate_and_tearing to false, and set depth_float24_round to true, and it is a 1:1 of how my Xbox used to play the game. Not a single missing texture, line, no vertex explosions, no crashes.

​@@LycanFerret Whenever i try to emulate it in Xenia the game crashes at the bridge section of Windmill Isle Suburbs, it's the reason i actually buyed the game now(i would've bought later in life) on my Xbox one, to be able to play it, it was incredibly fun.

How was this done, even the graphics and leg animations and the sound of his feet tapping the ground is similar to unleashed. The only thing missing I feel is the fish eyed camera lenses when he’s blistering and it seems like some of the blur effect maybe got toned down slightly.

I have a bad news for you: QTE was indeed in development but got canceled. What you're seeing in this video is the most modders could reach for an Unleashed experience.

@@hfplaysrblx6964 I think so. It's something almost non-existent in the base game so having to code a lot for 2 mechanics is surely a nightmare. Keep in mind that the mod that recreate proper Unleashed drift animation and restore water running sound effect took 2 years to happen. So a proper QTE restoration would have indeed taken more time.

Not exactly the same as Unleashed. There’s a few differences like the slow motion quick time sections gone and camera angle transitions not looking as smooth as they did in Unleashed

Why does Silver work better for Unleashed than he does his own game? Think about it: Silver is the new protector of the Master Emerald and follower of Light Gaia from the Future, sending himself to the past to fulfill a self-fulfilling proficey that a hedgehog defeats Dark Gaia. Silver goes back and while Sonic is away from Chip at night, Silver confronts him thinking he's another Dark Gaia spawn. Werehog Sonic quickly dispatches him, where Silver meets Eggman. Much like a certain Knucklehead, Silver takes the assistance of claiming the Chaos Emeralds while Eggman uses him to take out Sonic (clearly going to double cross him). Silver shows up as the Spagonia boss, and then again in Empire City talking to Daytime Sonic about what he'll do with the Emeralds, not believing him and talking more about Light Gaia. and then again in Adabat Night hurling rocks from the side while the two talk philosophy and Silver questioning Chip about his side in all of this, Chip though is acutely familiar with Light Gaia. At the end of Adabat night, Sonic confides with Silver, saying he doesn’t mean to harm the world. Silver sees sonic as a good soul, and joins him, along with revealing that he believes Chip to be Light Gaia. He scouts ahead in Eggmanland, thinking he can reason with Eggman, only to be later seen being man handled by Eggdragoon. As well, Silver could be assissting Chip in holding the Gaia Temples in the final fight, or even a possible Super Sonic and Silver team up a la SA2. It'd be really cool and give some character for Silver outside of a ruined future

It only needs the polygonal boost aura and it's complete, I guess? Edit: and more enemies and more challenging intelligence or presets I guess, like for example in 43:06 this enemies are already attacking in the original version, so you would fall off without control there

I played this mod. The only nitpick I have is that they didn't had enough slots to put in Eggmanland. And I've seen mods where you can go through the whole level as regular Sonic, even though we know it's originally a hybrid level where you played as both Regular Sonic AND the Werehog.
