Just a quick note for people who are about to comment about him cheating using Super Sonic or some other mod: the Super Sonic is just a model mod, it is purely cosmetic. If he were cheating using mods, they might as well just fly over the level.

Genuine question here, does quick stepping while holding B (or circle) not give you a speed boost on water? Is it only on land?

I never have been into any speed glitches in my years playing unleashed until I revisited the game after getting it on the Xbox series x so I’m not too fond of much of that stuff

If you slide onto water, the game will force you to stop sliding. If you try to start sliding while already on water, the game won't let you (can still kick). Unless there's a way around these, you can't get a speed boost.
