Man, this is how I got into Sonic. Sonic outrunning Sam making a sonic boom is something that stuck with me as a kid. I have fond memories of this episode. I can’t wait to see more.

The music in the japanese version of Sonic X is so much better than the music in the English dub,it actually sounds like Sonic music instead of the generic stock cartoon soundtrack. They should honestly make a version of the 4Kids dub with the japanese music,especially since we're never getting a redub.

I really do hope you do cover the japanese version as well. The english version is NOTORIOUS for censoring this series. Not adding the swears and removing actual scenes that are IMPORTANT because they thought it was "not suited for kids"

Sam did have his a-hole moments and was full of himself but he was also rather endearing at times. Actually, not unlike Sonic sometimes, and by sometimes I mean depending on the depiction in other media aside from some of the games. However, we all knew he was never going to have a chance at beating Sonic back then, but now we know that’s a fool’s errand considering Sonic’s casual speed is 767 mph and at top speed he can outrun an expanding black hole for like 10 seconds. In fact, I think it’s said his top speed is 186,000 miles per second. Sorry, Sam. No amount of rocket fuel is going to help you catch that hedgehog. Saying Sonic can beat him without even trying isn’t even boasting; it’s just a fact.

I’m happy to see talking about Sonic X. The one thing I love about Sonic X is all the characters like there characterizations in the show are just probably the favorite characterizations in the Sonic show universe. The one thing I love about Knuckles in the first show is that he doesn’t like Sonic’s reckless. Honestly, I would give episode 1 a 10/10. Great video Ace!

The Japanese version is genuinely such a better experience than the English dub. Even Sam Speed is better. He’s got a cute little running joke that lasts the whole series, that completely gets cut in the English dub. Also the music cues are significantly less annoying.

I also never understood the appeal of Sam in the early days and saw the whole concept of the S team as a bit out there even for something as fantastical as the Sonic franchise, but I understood him a bit better as I got older. It’s less about his purpose in this episode or the future reveal, but more so how Sonic out speeding him impacted him in future appearances and how he interacts with other characters, like Amy in particular in a future episode. I can’t speak for everyone and don’t know if this is accurate, but this is the conclusion I came to.

With 70+ episodes. I think you should do these videos covering multiple episodes. Or a single arc. At least combine the more minor episodes, and minor-big arcs in a few videos, if there isn’t much you can get out of the individual episodes.

Please re-watch this in Japanese and never look back; it's SO much worse in English, not necessarily because of the censorship/editing, but the overall atmosphere just feels off in general.

I agree with you, when it comes to Sam. He is just annoying, like almost every other human in that series. This “dragging out” happens way too often in the show. I don't have the patience for it. Not that I'm saying people can't like it, just imo

I strongly urge you to watch this in Japanese! Since Sonic Team was involved it really offers a great understanding these characters. It really helped me grasp Shadow’s character better overall and how a lot of it was lost in the dub.

I love Sonic X so much it's not a perfect anime but I think it has alot more positives than negatives and those flaws are mostly minor to me. To this day I still find the dub mostly good save for a few questionable choices in the Metarex Saga that infuriate me from good old 4kids. Also Chris is a good charachter in my opinion, he's nice and loyal kid who actually does try to contribute to Sonic's adventures. The one flaw with him is that the arc he goes through kinda stalls at the end of season 1 and does'nt pick back up until the end of season 2 so it ends up being kinda rushed. Other than that though I've never had a problem with him and the other's in the cast get plenty of shine throughout the show

Again the 4kids really ruined the show So I'm not sure if It's a good idea to continue on with it you may end up not liking th show Most of the haters of sonic x watched the dub It's the main reason was disliked from them I can't plame them honestly But if there is an Opportunity to watch the orginal better version You should definitly take it Not only 4kids ruined sonic x Shadow the hedgehog character and many story elements was also ruined by them Becouse thay add edgiennes and swear words and tons of stuff that almost ruined the story of the entire game(not the entirety since the game story is still very flawed even by japanese but shadow's character was not an edge lord like the dub was)
