To me it doesn't change, because I'd still choose resolution mode, but I can't see why not. Maybe they wanted it to have a big difference compared to tge console versions of old Gens?

It's quite clear from this comparison that Docked looks and plays better. However, as someone who frequently plays it Handheld, the differences are so small you hardly notice anything, if you even notice at all.

I agree. I just finished the Sonic X Shadow Generations game on the Steam Deck & even the original runs much smoother on the Steam Deck at 60 FPS.
